IGN writes: Last week, the spider-beans were spider-spilled. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is coming to a console near you and bringing with it a new take on webhead videogames. Rather than just cast you as Peter Parker in his red and blues, Shattered Dimensions is going to have you play as four different Spider-Men.
Drawing from the nearly 50-year history of Spider-Man, Shattered Dimensions will have players hopping between four different universes. That mean you're going to be four different Spider-Men from four different comic book worlds. So far, we only know that you'll be playing in the "Amazing" universe and the "Noir" universe, but there are two other universes that will round out the game.
That's cool and all, but we want to know what fans are going to be swinging into later this year, and if Activision isn't telling, we're going to start pitching out our ideas.
TW: “With the recent release of the sequel film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, I’ve been revisiting the astounding world of the Spider-Verse, enjoying both the prequel and the new sequel film in all their glory; and it’s led me to ask one question — why the hell isn’t there a Spider-Verse game?”
I too would like a whole game with the entire world looking like the animated movie. It could be awesome
Sometimes, companies feel they have to add a little star power to their games. So, they call in actual stars. Take a look at ten times where pulling in celebrities was a great idea.
Before Insomniac, there was Beenox; the studio reminisces on Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time, and more
"I only wish we had five years on any one of the Spider-Man games we made!"
Well, you don't have to work for Activision ya know. But yeah, they did a fair job considering the limited resources and well....Activision.
TASM2 was like the last superhero movie that had a movie tie-in game accompanying it
Whilst Spiderman 2 (in my opinion) is the greatest Super Hero game developed, and was a huge turning point in the genre, the games since that release have slowly spiralled downwards. This games Art style (atleast for the Amazing Spiderman sections) is perfect for this game, but the gameplay? I'm skeptical, please, someone pick this franchise back from the gloom. Overall, theres hope, just not much, lets be honest, the crown is shifting, the most current best superhero game is Arkham Asylum, but the bar has shifted for its sequel, High Expectations indeed.
