UK: Xbox 360 rises 131%, while DS sales rise by 196% in one year

UKResistance has published some hardcore statistics relating to the sales of videogame hardware in the UK. The figures show the immense growth that the UK games industry has experienced, but interestingly the Xbox 360 clearly leads the home console market this year with 3.14 million units sold in comparison to 1.57 million for the Wii (limited by supply perhaps) and 930,000 for the PS3.

Did you read the stats at all?

Consoles sold in 2007
40% Nintendo = 516,000
39% Sony = 503,100
21% Microsoft = 270,900

Sony and Nintendo beat Microsoft in every category.
The only one where the the 360 won over the PS3/Wii was in game sales. But it still get an asskicking by the PS2.

@Mike134nl
Yeah I saw that.
But we can only compare in 2007 when both Wii/PS3 got launched in 2007 in the UK.

Don't mind him masterg, His parents got him a xbox for x-mas now he thinks he is a fanboy just leave him B an let him make himself look stupid.

Mike134nl6154d ago

yo masterg I agree with you that in 2007 (Q1 and Q2) overall more ps3 ans WII were sold. But don't forget that in or close to 2007 the WII and Ps3 where launched which explains why the overall number for these consoles is higher in Q1+2 in 2007.

popup6154d ago

PS2 must be the best console then. No point living in denial.

predator6154d ago

u r a complete spoon, facts r right here and u still say cr@p

boi6154d ago

ok ps3 fanboys 360 is leading ps3...leave it as that

no point denying the facts and just believe it

ps3 will sell alot more later on but as of right now 360 beats the ps3!

don't have to say the 360s garbage ect

khsmooth6154d ago

....the harder people want the 360 to fail the more MS steps up. The 3 year year warranty, the open letter from Peter Moore saying that they should of been doing a better job and apologizing for the whole fiasco, reimbursing players who paid for the ring of death fix, Virtual Fighter 5 Online with the 360; the list is endless.

And no matter what people say about MS atleast they stepped up and said My Bag, cause I sure don't ever recall Sony apologizing to any gamers for the Massive Amounts of PS2 failures.

Former Dragon Age lead writer David Gaider pours scorn on EA's AI dreams.

"They want you to believe the devs under them are super stoked to work generative AI into their processes," continued Gaider, "but I assure you what they took as excitement was really a veiled wail of despair not unlike the time that team was informed of their new 'really cool' live service mandate.".

I said this yesterday. AI isn't what we want when it comes to crafting artistry. Alas, these soulless corporate morons don't care about their work, only about cutting corners as much as possible.
