I don't really know how to feel about this since Spider-Man games have been pretty bad lately. Like I said yesterday, the best one I played in awhile is Spider-Man 2. I'd love it if this title could match even half the quality of Spider-Man 2.

LoVeRSaMa5143d ago

I was excited and half expected to see an Arkham Asylum equivalent of Spider-man perhaps multiplat or exclusive but then....

Clicked the site and saw it was on some Nintendo website.

*Moves to the X and clicks.*

Gothdom5143d ago

based on the official site, it's on ps3 and 360 also http://spidermandimensions....

But it's from Activision, so I'm weary of the results.

Army_of_Darkness5143d ago

does anybody still even care about spiderman games?!

Ziriux5143d ago

I thought I told you I dont care about spiderman stuff on the wii?

Valay5143d ago

Personally, I don't care what systems it's for as long as it's enjoyable. It'd be nice to see a good Spider-Man game regardless of which platform it's for.

-Mezzo-5143d ago

My spidey sense tells me this one will be just as bad as all of the previous ones.

BeaArthur5143d ago

I don't think you needed spidey sense to figure that out.

WhatARump5143d ago

The original playstation (and i think pc?) games were great tho :)

LoVeRSaMa5143d ago

The only tingling I get is the tingle of anger when I realise its just another Wii game.

Meh even spiderman 2 was hardly the best possible with the franchise , and yet that's the best they've come up with .

I count the days where finally that damn activision/Marvel contract with end , and then finally , via their Disney connections , Marvel will get a good studio for their games (besides the mmo , thankfully activision free)

Activision's contract , and Sega's as well , need to die very hard . The sooner it dies , the sooner MVC3 in 2.5d and some actual good action and rpg marvel games

It'd be nice to think that Activision were realising what strides were taken with Batman AA and allow the relatively wet under the ears(at this level) dev some money and enough room to make this just as good. I'm among the biggest cynics when it comes to Activision and their charming top boy but we've seen EA xchange a little and the success of AA might allow this one some hope, no? I'm sure Activision noted how well it sold for Eidos(should that be SE Europe now?), no? Publishers are keen on getting a franchise up and running well and they've been shown the right balance by Rocksteady's excellent game.

Also, it's my understanding that far from being "just another Wii game" this is coming out for Wii, PS3, 360 and DS, isn't it? I'm positive the other stories I saw regarding it were saying that anyway.

Anyhoo, I thought WoS(though it was a poor game overall) had a few decent touches worth revisiting(esp in the way you could flow in combat from one thug to the next in a VERY convincing "Spidey" way, imo)but fell a long way short of revamping a franchise in the dirt after the thumb numbing garbage of SM3(seriously bad mechanic for web swinging for me). Loads of people seem very unimpressed by this but I thought it had some potential and we don't even know what the other dimension Spidermen will be yet. the game could end up being one of great variety BUT they really need to nail the "Amazing" part of it as that's what folk who never read a comic book are familiar with-so far it looks OK and they've gone with a cartoonish art style that could suit ALL their proposed platforms.

Of course, a lot of the hatred could be Wii based but that's unfair too-maybe this will pop out with Move(and maybe Natal if it's used for this kind of game)come the autumn, who knows but writing something off this early seems a little on the tight side. I fail to see why someone would not want a good Spiderman game anyway, whatever platform it's on. Even though I don't trust Acti and don't have much reason to have faith in the developer(who seem to have done mainly lower budget tie in games from what I recall and read today)-I still think it would be great if this was good even if I#m not currently on the market for Activision's games. Perhaps this, if it's good and sells OK might convince Acti/Kotick that there's some merit in, y'know, making great games and not JUST money.

by looking at some pics I can already say that this game's not looking good.

I’d Die For A Web-Slinging Spider-Verse Game in the Same Visual Style As the Animated Films

TW: “With the recent release of the sequel film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, I’ve been revisiting the astounding world of the Spider-Verse, enjoying both the prequel and the new sequel film in all their glory; and it’s led me to ask one question — why the hell isn’t there a Spider-Verse game?”

Didn't they already have that as a costume in the previous game.

purple101318d ago

There sure was a super sweet looking cell shaded suit. Made you feel like your actually playing a comic.

shinoff2183318d ago

The look is perfect we got enough games in that art style.

S2Killinit317d ago

It would still be sick though. And I dont mean cell shading to cut corners. It would have to be amazing like the movies themselves.

potatoseal317d ago

I too would like a whole game with the entire world looking like the animated movie. It could be awesome

jznrpg317d ago

I like this style better imo

"I only wish we had five years on any one of the Spider-Man games we made!"

Well, you don't have to work for Activision ya know. But yeah, they did a fair job considering the limited resources and well....Activision.
