X360 - 83

Damn tools..1080/720p > 528p, quality > performance

HELP US SABOTING XBOT GAMES, BUY PS3 !!!!

evilmonkey5015178d ago

well, it is a half baked non-high definition game on the 360.

Udidntlistenpunk5179d ago (Edited 5179d ago )

PS3 has no loading times,
no installing
comes in one disc
has better sound
and graphics are definitely a level or two better.

PS3 - it only does everything.

vhero5179d ago (Edited 5179d ago )

WOW TOTALLY UNEXPECTED... Even the Biased dutch website couldn't cover up that mess. Though they tried they picked out a lot of places you couldn't tell the difference.

TheLog5179d ago

The difference in graphics is un-noticeable by casual gamers. Only fanboys eyes would see the difference lol. I am also not spoiled enough to moan about 3 dics games as i definately dont mind changing disc every 15-20 hrs of gameplay.

Tito085179d ago (Edited 5179d ago )

Why don't videogamezone show it as being 1080p, I don't get it!!!! Uhmm, now that I looked closely, I can see the difference!!!!

specialguest5178d ago

Not a major downgrade to cripple the game experience. I think Square Enix did a decent job with the 360's version.

freeblue5178d ago

those two show huge difference. look at the hair, and the skin details.

Then you guys have again succeed at making a$$es of yourselves again. I am sure it will not be the last time, as you have no shame. I could hardly see any difference what so ever, and sometimes at first glance some 360 screens look better. This game is not for me on any system. I don't play game like this anymore.

Off topic: I thought this was a PS3 site. I use Lens of truth for comparisons. This site seems amateurish. No whatta mean?

WengYong5178d ago (Edited 5178d ago )

There is a massive difference in image quality, thats not fanboys eyes thats just eyes in general. Dont let fanboy goggles make you look silly, just go and play the game. Who cares if it looks crappier? Be greatful you got the game on the 360.

EDIT: If you dont like this game why are you even commenting in this thread? Troll Much??

Triella5178d ago

The site is trying lure people into believing that the difference is not so important but according to Gamepro.de the low resolution of the 360 version is more noticeble than that : http://www.gamepro.de/speci...

Yeah, I have to give it the the PS3 on this one. Most Multiplat games the 360 takes it but for me the skin, hair, eyes and eyelashes where much more defined on the PS3 version.

Although them differences seemed more to do with the level 2 final fantasy cut-scenes. Because there pre-rendered the general battles and world movement where much closer to tell and there wasn't much difference if any.

I think it's more down to the fact that they compressed the cut-scenes on the 360 version then anything else. I would say the port was done very well, but sadly there's not much S-E can do with the limits of DVD9.

And why I don't agree Blu-Ray was necessary this generation as most games still fit onto 1 DVD 9. It is very nice to have where games like final fantasy are concerned.

So clearly the version I will be picking up tomorrow is the PS3 version. Although if only have the 360 version I would say the differences ain't game changing so pick it up regardless.

Ravage275178d ago

don't let me catch you at future comparison articles then. It's pointless since your eyes aren't good enough to detect the differences anyway.

And no, the difference will be apparent to anyone with a working set of eyes if they had bothered to look.

That is assuming, of course, that you have viewed it in the original HD resolution.

In the event that you didn't, i'll take back my words - you are not blind...just stupid.

FACTUAL evidence5178d ago

Seriously the game comes out today, and just get it for whatever console you own, if both,......well...get it for what you like i guess. Just have fun with the game already. It's finally here after 4 and a half years. Have fun, stop b!tching, be thankful. Happy gaming peeps.

Syronicus5178d ago

You simply buy the best version for what ever console if you have them all. If you have only one console then you buy that game. It's a no-brainer.

Richdad5178d ago

Better get a 576p version than no FFXIII at all. I have PS3 too so I will get PS 3 version but those who only have 360 are still lucky.

Graphics are issue but you lose more visual quality if you use a TN panel monitor or SD TV to play game then it is no use to cry for detials.
The basic issue is due to DVD used in 360. If 360 would had a Blu-Ray I think it would be as good as PS3 version.

This is MS fault not square. Square has did a good job. Better MS should reduce HDD prices and let games install, we do that on PC and we can continue that on 360 if gives better quality.

PS3 proves that it is the superior console.

AKNAA5178d ago

you don't really notice much difference until you look at it in 720p, in which I didn't at first cause I was to lazy to click on each link....

But this one particular pic made everything all so obvious.
http://www.videogameszone.d...

beardpapa5178d ago

you can see the cracks in the skin and beard follicles on the ps3 version in that pic.

smturner685178d ago

SquareEnix are full of lazy developers who rushed the 360 version.

Where have I heard that before?

Seriously, there is something wrong that they didn't just make MORE discs and make the quality the same. But, screw them, I'll just get the ps3 version. They can take the money from microsoft...but not me!(for the subpar version)

D4RkNIKON5178d ago

"SquareEnix are full of lazy developers who rushed the 360 version"
It is a compressed port, not really lazy just compressed to fit on the limited storage that is obviously last gen tech. PS3 for the long run, It only does Future proof.

beardpapa5178d ago

well they coulda used more discs but something about they'll be charged if they use more than 3.

Xbox 360 version looks worse...nothing to see here...only the most delusional didn't know this would be the case...

Who even cares about FF XIII graphics when you see what GOW III is pushing on screen...not I...

Myze5178d ago

GoW 3 does look better, but FFXIII (ps3) is easily the best looking RPG ever made (WRPG or JRPG). I believe it was downgraded just like most (obvious from the demo released), and it still looks really really good, which makes me that much more excited to see how Versus turns out. (Btw, enjoying XIII a lot so far)

The 7 Best Final Fantasy Characters: Unveiling the Legends

While FFVII ranks highly, there's more to the series than one game. Here's Chit Hot's picks for the seven best Final Fantasy characters.

220°

The older it gets, the more I respect Final Fantasy XIII

Alex Donaldson: "Hindsight is a hell of a thing, however, and in the years since Final Fantasy XIII, my respect for the decisions its developers made has skyrocketed. In the two Final Fantasy titles since we see both the brilliance and the folly in alternative approaches - and in Final Fantasy VII Remake, we get a more nuanced understanding of what FF13 was trying to accomplish from many of the same development leads."

Einhander1972142d ago

FFXIII is actually one of the best Final Fantasy games.

I also sort of was disappointed at the time, never as much as the bandwagon. But really all the fantastic 3D rendered cutscenes and I actually liked the characters and the story though convoluted was actually fantastic and the ending was extremely emotional. So much budget and time were put into that game Square had such big plans, I actually have always felt kind of bad for how things played out.

I have been thinking for years how great it would be to get all three games on one disk for PS4 or 5.

Nyxus142d ago

I always liked this game, and I agree, a rerelease for current gen would be nice.

Shane Kim140d ago (Edited 140d ago )

Gotta take off the nostalgia glasses. It's the worst FF. Shiva as a bike, I mean come on.

Elda140d ago

Shiva as a bike is strange but saying FFXIII is the worst FF is not at all a fact, that's simply your opinion.

Terry_B140d ago

*One of the 3 equally bad FF's

DivineHand125140d ago (Edited 140d ago )

When I got my series X a year ago, I bought FF13 for nostalgia reasons but ended up being disappointed. When I first played it around the time it launched, I didn't have a lot of experience with final fantasy games, so I enjoyed it. Fast forward to when I played it again, I found that the game had many unnecessary filler moments instead of just giving us meaningful content.

The game is also very linear and a quote on the article said it best. "It is like a sewage pipe that leads to the ocean until it opens up on Grand Pulse."

The story didn't make much sense either and I believe it is my mistake as I played the FF7 remake on PS5 prior which is a night and day difference in terms of pacing, storytelling and likeable characters even though cloud is aloof.

FinalFantasyFanatic140d ago (Edited 140d ago )

Probably was a mistake to play any of the golden era FFs first (e.g. FF6 through FF10), it makes it harder to enjoy some of the FFs that aren't as good. I think FF12 was where major issues with the series started becoming apparent, and it just got worse from there.

FinalFantasyFanatic140d ago (Edited 140d ago )

I didn't really care for it that much, the only saving grace was that it had a better story than 15 (overall it was better than 15) and possibly 12, and even then, you had to read some of it through primers, like reading a book. Plus the battle system was reasonably fun for what it was, even if it was more the spectacle that was exciting for me (e.g. summoning). And to be fair, the 13 trilogy got better with every games, I still don't like Snow though.

Gamingsince1981140d ago

Ff13 is only good if you haven't played a ff before, or any other games that are decent for that matter.

-Foxtrot140d ago

It is in fact no way the best Final Fantasy game, it's one of the worst

Linear corridors, Cutscene, Fight, Cutscene...rinse and repeat

Dialogue and characters are pretty bad, especially Lightning as the main FF hero, they literally said they tried to make a "Female Cloud" and they failed.

Story was pretty awful

I could go on

I think the only alright thing that came from the game was the music.

Elda139d ago

That's not a fact that's your personal opinion. The game sold 11 million copies between its 2009 release up until 2014 including critically reviewed as an 8 out of 10 or an 80 out of 100. The game does have some issues but it's not at all a fact as one of the worst FF games.

-Foxtrot139d ago

Elda

Not just mine mate

A large majority

So….

Traecy139d ago

N4G commenters such as yourself aren't the majority. The game was well received.

i liked the game alot but i didnt like how they handled the terminology.

i dont mind reading data logs but it had soo many.

but i always loved the music and how it looked. the battle system wasnt too bad either.

but i like 13-2 more :)

i still dont understand why we never got a remaster of the trilogy

Eonjay140d ago

Xbox kinda did. Besides the video files of course which are still best on PS3 due to bluray.

Snookies12142d ago

XIII is a pretty solid game, but XIII-2 is WAY better. XIII-2 was one of the few games I decided to go for a Platinum trophy in, early on. Had so much fun the entire way through getting it too!

Eonjay140d ago

Totally agree. FF 13 was okay but 13-2 is my favorite FF game ever.

shinoff2183142d ago (Edited 142d ago )

I hated this to when it released. I haven't much liked a ff game since ff10 as much , aside from ff7remake. I decided to give it another shot on my series x since it's not on a current ps and was liking it quite a bit(just takes me some time to get over things ) until star ocean 2 remake came out I was all over that.

Square should definitely remaster it or something for ps4 ps5

KillerB140d ago

my favorite jrpg trilogy ever
