Thanks to the economic downturn, studio closures and layoffs, and a plethora of delayed and bumped releases, 2009 wasn't a year that many game companies will look back on warmly.
But with the new year comes new hope for the industry. 2010 appears to be stacked with significant games. And, unlike most years in which the majority of triple-A titles are released in the space of a few months during the fall, it's doubtful that even a month will go by without at least a couple of noteworthy games being released.
Here is a list of 40 games worth getting excited about this year.
Rockstar Games may be preparing to release its open world action adventure game, Red Dead Redemption 1, on PC.
Hopefully 60fps on consoles for RDR2 is next then.
There aren't many games I'd double dip for, but having originally gotten this for PS3, I would happily get this if true.
Backward compatibility works for many games on newer consoles, but titles such as The Simpsons: Hit and Run have been left out.
Final Fantasy XIV fans can now properly benchmark their PCs and check out some of what's coming to their game this summer.

Tell me which one is wrong.
Is all points bulletin really scheduled for March? Lately I haven't really heard of anything thus far and they still haven't done the beta ( I don't think ) so not to sure about that one, but if it does come out in March I gotta start worrying again since I want that game :/
Other than that most releases that I really want in the span of these three months are set, with a few that will be gotten after the tsunami of games is over. The one I really would like to get a release date on right now is Final Fantasy XIV.
