Well it's probably worse on the PS3. Microsoft actually goes after people who are reported for cheating and bans/suspends them as proven with MW2. Whereas Sony, does nothing so those cheaters have nothing to fear; again, as proven by MW2. So if you got a cheaters where nothing will happen to them, they will cheat vs a situation where they could risk getting banned/suspended.

If this was talking about the Xbox 1 though, MAN it was hella bad on Halo 2. That crap was RIDICULOUS.

I'm not sure, although we do know that it is FAR easier to hack (and therefore cheat) with the 360. I'm sure there are plenty of people on both the PS3 and the 360 who use a game's glitches to cheat, but when it comes to actually hacking a game, I'd bet my bottom dollar that it's far more prominent on the 360 (again, because the system is easy to hack).

Wow amazing this gets brought up this week of all weeks... Well I say 360 as Achievement cheating is rife on that console! It's so easy to cheat your achievement score and pretty much impossible to do on ps3 except 1 MW2 glitch which got fixed.

That depends on what you consider cheating, because cheating using requires an individual to manipulate a system. With Modern Warfare 2, it's more of an exploit that the developers missed that can be used in the user's favour that anyone can use is different than pirating software/hardware that requires the user's end to change something.

To cheat on a 360 you need specialized hardware to extract the data from the Hard drive. On the ps3 its as easy as extracting the save file with a usb drive and then running a program to alter the save file.

Then to top it all off psn is unmoderated so you can run around and hack all day untouched.

Every game has glitches and exploits because they are made by humans, the only difference is games like MW2 and Halo3 are played everyday by millions of more gamers than UC2, therefore you have less people exposing and using glitches. I'm sure nobody here has really heard anything about games like Hour of Victory online glitches, thats because nobody bothered to waiste their time to play it in the first place.

I hated those cheaters in KZ2 and Warhawk back when they havent fixed it. In Warhawk people were able to toss the Flag and get high scores without killing anyone. KZ2, death when you spawn. Tekken for lag.

to be a level 10 Prestige without cheating. The jav glitch and point glitch exist on all formats. The highest Prestige I have run into is a level 4 Prestige and I have played in roughly 1000 matches.

The guy that was a level 4 Prestige told me he plays the game every day since it released and he doesn't work. How could anyone be a level 10 legit?

Does the 360 have any cheating homebrew apps since the system is hacked? I know for PSP Socom Fireteam Bravo 2 was real bad because there was a program called CWcheat that allowed players to have infinite ammo, god mode, walk through walls and more. I am glad the PS3 isn't hacked like that.

You have to take into account the amount of overall users, the popularity of each game, how cheaters are dealt with, etc.

Cheating will always be more prominent in the more popular games though.

There's absolutely no way to quantify it on any system. Far more people are accused of cheating than actually do. It's like asking which country has the most crime, but it's such a vague argument subject to relative terms.

Let's be honest. MOST people are honest gamers. It's the loud minority that can, despite lesser numbers, still ruin the game for more people.

I know people think javelin and geo glitchers are the problem, but kill colluding (for the Tactical Nuke) is even worse, mostly because it relies on no glitches and operates within the stated rules of the game.

the answer depends how you understand the title. For me, it's like if you pay for playing online games (xbox live), then I would expect a very good service, fast and secure without any cheaters and hackers. With a free play service (PSN), I would expect some securities and all, but I'm not paying anything for it.. It's FREE, so there's no obligation to have a perfect online service. it's the company that is giving the service, so they can do whatever they want with it.

That's why cheating is worse on 360, not because there is more cheaters and hackers, but there should be a LOT less and even none at all compared to PSN.

Oh and for the MW2 thing, on my 360 the leaderboards isn't messed up like the ps3,but I see as many cheaters on the 360 as on the ps3 (I bought the 360 version and my roomate bought the ps3 version). it's just infinity ward problem, not microsoft nor sony.

Cheating should not be sterotyped to one console it happenes on PS3,Wii,360, and even PC. COD just happenes to be the big game everybody is glitching with seems Modern Warfare 2 is the one sending out singals. Meaning when World at War came out I am sure people cheated with it and there were hardley any stories on here about it last story i read was people hiding and sniping under the map. All of a sudden when the Javelin glitch arrives its like the second coming of Christ everybody has to write a story to either bash Sony or critisies M$ for taking action againest cheatiing. Its a glitch in the game IW screwed up if anybody should be on the witch hunt list its them they did not really test the game out. Sony and Microsoft have their own ways with dealing with cheaters if I remeber Sony did go after those who cheated on KillZone 2 when it came out so yes Sony does care.

Microsoft is only doing this because the game sold well on the 360 and it has a higher install base so basically M$ is kissing Activisions arse. The way I see it with Sony they won't interfere for the simple fact it is not their game and the glitch should have been found before the game was released. Every consolse will have a cheater even someone who will cheat on MarioKart for the Wii its not limited to one system.

I really haven't seen anyone cheat on the PS3 (Javelin Glitch in MW2)...I've actually never been killed by it now that I think of it.

honestly the only time i see real hackers is in COD. all other online games have their glitchers, as all games do, but i've never seen someone hack the game as in COD4 and MW2. personally i feel IW is more to blame. i'm not saying it's completely IW's fault but if they didn't have their code available most of this wouldn't happen. i alot of the hackers on teh PS3 do it by taking their save files on their PS3 and messing with them. why are these files accessible? the majority of COD4's PS3 hacks were done this way too so shouldn't IW have learned there lesson

Anyway back to the topic, cheating is ok on offline games, but on online games like MW2 it should not be allowed as you actually are spoiling other people's fun as well, I am sure it will be mainly teenagers doing this as most mature adults don't really bother with cheating, so in that case it would be more prevailiant on the xbox360.
