Shadowrun previewed by IGN, gameplay videos included

IGN reports:
"Shadowrun, FASA Studios' arena shooter, is finally in stores, and we can't play the PC version. It's not for lack of effort - we spent hours trying to get the thing to connect to Live on a Vista rig with no luck. Once the game is installed it requires you to create an Xbox Live ID or sign in with an existing one. We have one, but after signing in with the correct information it just wouldn't let us connect. After fiddling with firewall and network port settings, we still couldn't get in. Whether this is a widespread issue or a problem with our own rig and network setup isn't clear, as we're not omniscient. It is the reason we can't bring you cross-platform impressions, however."

this game looks like doom when it first came out like bck in 1993 lol

and this is a 2nd year title for the 360 - yup showing off its power i guess *rollseyes*

AkUmAzRaGe lRl6187d ago

HATER ALERT..... why dont you just go play your sh!ty ps3 games and wait 5years to play a good game.....lol

ElementX6187d ago

I have this game, it's good. Most user reviews (not ratings) on ign and gamespot are positive.

Dr Pepper6187d ago

But what about the lack of any single player/story mode? I view that as a problem and that's why I'm not getting it.

God of Gaming6187d ago

Its just like Counterstrike... which last I heard did very well

Dr Pepper6186d ago

That's why I didn't get Counter-strike, no story mode. I was talking about my opinion, which is why I used: I view that as a problem, I'm not getting it. I never said there would be others that wouldn't.

ShadowRun - An Xbox 360 Classic Left to Rot

ShadowRun arrived in 2007 and is still played by a core audience on modern consoles and PC today, despite a bungled launch.

coolbeans131d ago

Played it a few months back. Not a stellar mp game at its time, but still genuine & janky fun.

Sciurus_vulgaris131d ago

I have never played Shadowrun. However, the universe of Shadowrun seems like a good setting for various game genres. The franchise combines traditional fantasy tropes with cyberpunk science fiction.

Rebel_Scum130d ago

Yeah since the megadrive game I’ve always thought how cool the setting and premise is but the game never really delivers on gameplay.

ocelot07130d ago (Edited 130d ago )

Really enjoyed this back on 360. Was one of the first pc games I played as well. Nice to see it's still online I'm going to have to see about getting a copy on pc again.

Edit: is this backward compatible with series X?

Gcayton1130d ago

Fun game... just not Shadowrun.

porkChop130d ago

The Shadowrun RPGs from Harebrained Schemes were great, but that IP is just begging for a massive, Cyberpunk 2077-style game. Open world action RPG epic with a healthy dose of immersive sim goodness.

shinoff2183127d ago

That could turn out really good for real.

The 7 Best Xbox 360 Games - Console Exclusives Win the Day

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?

DrDoomer158d ago

I'm pretty used to these lists being bad, but this one is particularly s#ite.

raWfodog157d ago

I think Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon should have been added to the list.

BrainSyphoned158d ago

I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*

Husker42c158d ago

I really loved Shadow Complex.

P_Bomb157d ago

Ah yes, Shadow Complex! Good indies back in the day. Summer of Arcade. I enjoyed Trials Evolution as well.

ChasterMies158d ago (Edited 158d ago )

Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.

Abnor_Mal158d ago (Edited 158d ago )

Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.

The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.

darthv72157d ago

360 had Namco hitters AC6 and RR6... both quality titles. You should at least bust out the 360 for AC6 if you can score the flight stick. Its great.

Hofstaderman157d ago

When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....

Profchaos157d ago (Edited 157d ago )

It's a nostalgia peice same reason we get thousands of YouTube videos on sega genisis. Something people have fond memories for but the era is long gone.

It's xboxs golden year imo it was their genisis years the time where they stuck it to the market leaders Sony.

BehindTheRows157d ago

They stuck nothing. Sony screwed themselves giving Xbox an opening. They would have gotten the usual smack down if the PS3 had launched at $399 and was easier to develop for.

Shadowrun 2007 almost had a System Shock-style singleplayer campaign

But Microsoft said no.

XiNatsuDragnel270d ago

I'm not surprised I hope if Microsoft is more open to these things.

anast268d ago

That would have been fun, so they said no.
