I just wanted to say xbox360 can also do 3D not just ps3. Just like my friend Kojima said Natal is the next “2D to 3D shift”.

Nike5337d ago

It seems you need a special screen to be able to take full advantage of the stereoscopic 3D vision. Least, the guys on NeoGAF are saying so.

mrv3215337d ago

3D- XYZ, last I checked most TV's don't output in 3 dimension so I don't see how that works.

Oh you mean the 360 eye toy thing, well yeah I suppose that reads 3D, lucky life doesn't have pop in like every game on the 360 :P

Also BTW PS motion is 3D, it detects UP, LEFT and Forward movement.

And btw the PS3 also does 4-D so yeah, I believe that's something that you get when you don't have a cheap HDD-Less DVD using 2004 PC... or the 360.

I'm not being biased, I play my 360, I think Gears 2 is great, it's just fanboys are getting damn annoying. I am only being like this so he can see how much of a tween he looks. Just because we don't know you doesn't mean we can't hate you.

Nitrowolf25337d ago

lol @ your avatar, and yes they both can do 3D.

Nike5337d ago

@mrv321:

Usually, I thought 4D meant "the fabric of space and time". But apparently it's actually relevant to games and films! Apparently, it "describes an entertainment presentation system combining a 3-D film with physical effects in the theatre, which occur in synchronization with the film". Like most of the stuff in amusement parks (Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, for instance). But it seems they're only limited to amusement parks and such, since they require a large amount of money to set up.

mrv3215337d ago

By 4-D I mean like fully rendered time, not programed there's an old video floating about that make heavy rain look like water vapour.

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Imagine that in a GTA!!!!

Nike5337d ago

:D

Very, VERY compelling. I especially like how everything was rendered in real-time, and these were all generated on the fly thus resulting in smaller file size.

Would make a great addition to a lot of sandbox games. For games that stress having a "living" world with unique NPC cycles and day-night time cycles, it'd be awesome to see things actually grow rusted, old, broken, degraded, etc. It'd be a reward just booting the game after a few months or so just to see how far things have changed in the game world. :)

mrv3215337d ago

Nah, the true fun cna be had in Sims games. Imagine doing WHAT EVER you want till the end of time just messing with weather.

I think stuff like that will never be widely used but the first game to use it will be hailed as the coming of christ.

11 360s and counting5336d ago

I love how sony and nintendo go for inovation and don't take advantage of retards like the 360 morons who seem to think they actually play HD games and that M$ doesn't screw them over time and time and time and time and time again! You bunch of stupid ass queers. Deep down you know you don't have sh!t. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAH

sniping is going to be a b1tch in 2010. that depth is going to be intense.

farhad2k85337d ago

Now combine that with the motion controllers, you get the future, now.

vhero5337d ago

Exactly this with motion controllers blows Natal out of the water..

Kushan5337d ago

Due to a fairly rare eyesight condition I have, this 3D technology doesn't work on me. I only found this out the other day when I went to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 3D. First 3D film I'd ever seem.
I was gutted it didn't work, I was really looking forward to the shift to 3D, now its meaningless to me =\

TheBand1t5337d ago

That sucks, dude. Btw, how was the movie?

Kushan5337d ago

It was an ok film. It was made more interesting by the fact that one of my housemates is the spitting image of the main character lol.

thor5337d ago

Blind in one eye?

Seriously, though, 3D isn't all it's hyped up to be.

For a start, it looks weird and unnatural. If you're playing a 2D game and it has awesome graphics it's as though it's happening and you're watching it on TV. If you're playing a 3D game, it's a totally unique experience. It cannot cope with distance, since the screen is always the same distance away. This means that if something comes close, you will try to focus on it, but actually it will go out of focus because it's still on the screen. So you end up with a '3D' world where you can see different stuff with differnet eyes, giving an impression of depth, but on the other hand everything is at the SAME depth. Clever depth of field techniques are required to make it look decent in films. In games, DoF is often a bad idea, but then it will just look weird.

YogiBear5337d ago (Edited 5337d ago )

Just wait until "Avatar" comes out. No 3D glasses needed.

Punknoodle5336d ago

Eye problem - its just that KFC bucket covering them! OK sorry that was too easy :)
Too bad man. Does that mean your depth perception is out too?

But that guys voice is definitely going to go out lol. I've never heard a voice squeak that much before, and that's not just him speaking Japanese either.

Sarcasm5337d ago

lmao I noticed that tooOOOOO *squeeks*

Athlon5337d ago

LoL! I couldn't stop laughing after reading your comments about that guy's squeaky voice and watching the video. That was hilarious. lol

Microsoft had a good idea but fumbled it again.

Cacabunga4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

Project Spark idea was decent but they quickly gave up ..
LBP was wonderful

ApocalypseShadow5d ago

Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.
https://www.playstationlife...

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.

They're scum.

Zachmo1824d ago

Microsoft didn't force MLB on Xbox. MLB gave Sony 2 options either go multiplat or risk losing the license.

Rynxie3d ago

And why do you think MLB said that? I believe Ms approached MLB.

ApocalypseShadow3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Totally ridiculous comment.

The only exclusivity Sony had was to their own creation of The Show. Microsoft could have paid the MLB for the license just like Sony did and made their own baseball game.

Microsoft instead, groomed MLB for years in trying to poach Sony's game and bring it to Xbox. They're worth 3 TRILLION dollars. You think that's not enough money to make their own baseball game? Don't be delusional.

Microsoft spun it like they always do and told the media that they had to trust Sony with their hardware. After they put Sony in that position of not having a choice. Either go multiplatform or stop making one of their successful games. That's a no win scenario.

And what did Microsoft do? They didn't try to sell the game to the Xbox community. They put it on game pass to hurt Sony. Pushing the idea of why buy games that are $70 when you can play them in their cheap service for $10. It was a dirty tactic.

You fell for the Kool aid drink Microsoft served you instead of spitting it out. Hope it tasted good because you were fooled by Phil and the gang.

Xbox executive Sara Bond has told Axios that Microsoft spent a number of years trying to get MLB The Show onto Xbox consoles. And when it finally succeeded in breaking off PlayStation’s long-held exclusivity, the company had to “trust” Sony with pre-release Xbox Series X/S consoles.

Bond revealed that MLB The Show “always came up” in conversations between Microsoft and the Major League Baseball organization. “We always said, ‘We love this game. It would be a huge opportunity to bring it to Xbox.'” she recalled. However, when Microsoft’s efforts materialized, it put the company in an awkward situation where it had to send in pre-release consoles to a rival company.

Lying to yourself is unbecoming.

Article link tells you all you need to know in Sarah Bond's own words.

Hereandthere3d ago

They were too cheap/inept/lazy to develop their own mlb game, so they port begged for years and bribed the mlb to make the show multiplatform. Like i said many times, xbox brought nothing to the table their 24 years, ZERO.

ApocalypseShadow2d ago

At least you and others get it. Note drank the Kool aid and asked for seconds thinking it was refreshing.

Most don't even know how it all played out but it's there in black and white for all to see. Microsoft brought it up for years until the MLB forced Sony's hand. It was a win win for Microsoft. Kill one reason to buy a PlayStation or kill the game by dropping it in a cheap service to kill Sony's sales numbers on PlayStation.

OtterX4d ago

"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."

Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.

Cockney2d ago

They chose well, Sony gave them the backing to pursue their dreams with no restrictions even tho their games especially dreams have very niche appeal. Media molecule and Sony deserve respect for this in an age of risk averse publishing.

RNTody4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.

But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?

Inverno4d ago

Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.

Inverno4d ago

They shut down the servers, that's millions of user created levels gone. That and dead are pretty much the same, it's also been years since 3 and they cancelled HUB soooo.

3d ago
fsfsxii3d ago

They shutdown the servers because no one was playing, no one in the community cared about the user created levels so why keep them up? Wtf you guys would never succeed in running a business.

Inverno3d ago

Yea dood no one was playing so they shut off the servers. Cause people with enough common sense can't just Google why they were actually shut of, right?
