Xbox 360 owners here in Japan are getting Nier Gestalt. PS3 owners are getting Nier Replicant. What's the difference between these two?
Square Enix hasn't been particularly forthcoming on the differences. But this month's Famitsu Xbox 360 provides some answers.
Get ready to embark on a journey filled with monsters, magic, and overpowered haircuts, because this list features the best JRPGs on the PS3.
There wasn't that many. Thanks to the west's criticism. It was definitely lacking compared to every other ps system. Dont get me wrong there were a few good ones i know that.
Only gripe I have with Ar Tonelico 3 is that Saki is annoying as hell whether English or in Japanese. Then Saki's English voice actor became Ionasal on Ar Nosurge she was a little annoying but not as bad. Johnny Young Bosch voicing Tatsumi I thought he did a great job. And Akiko Shikata with her vocals and the music from the games just went hand and hand.
Nier and Drakengard are two series that couldn't be more different in their setting and stories, but somehow they are still linked.
Shuhei Yoshida chats with Yoko Taro, Yosuke Saito, and Keiichi Okabe about their work in the NieR series.
"that Nier Gestalt, the Japanese Xbox 360 version of the game, is basically the international version of Nier. In other words, it's the version that PS3 and Xbox 360 owners outside of Japan will be getting"
I'd rather see the Replicant version of Nier come to NA. I like the look of Nier in Replicant more than in Gestalt.
Both will be mediocre.
one has a hermaphrodite
Xbox 360 runs at 1080p native while PS3 runs at 640p Native i know which version i'm getting.
tss i'll probably play both , but i'd rather have access to Replicant .
I love the idea of having an older hero but i dont want such a ugly mutt wrapped in a shape of musclor/Conan ... but rather an actually cool yet mature looking hero like Geralt from the Witcher .
Aside from the game that's actually a very aggravating and general issue . Western and japanese editor alike rarely find some middle ground for heroes , between young and often angrogyne heroes , or weirdly designed old marines or musclor/conan/kalidor clones .
right now i can only think of a few games like Devil may cry , prince of persia and in the rpg field , The Witcher , who tried some enutral field .
hell Dante inferno soon is a missed opportunity imho in that area . Dante is basically a scholar and poet with some combat experience ... he didnt need to be the usual gladiator design with chainmail ... he could have been something less rip , subtle and more true to the source .
Ps : it's no dig or attack at any of the mentioned game , it's just a bit sad and non creative
