It goes without saying that the Shin Megami Tensei subseries, Persona, has become one of the most beloved RPG series in recent memory, but it didn’t start out that way.

That isnt always true.. Just look at the recent Mass Effect. Great game but some stuff definitely was better in previous versions.

While tales of Berseria is a good game, it doesn't even hold a Candle vs Persona 5.

I am surprised, though, after the glowing previews - but I guess the old-school RPG isn't for everyone.
Yeah, I think they just didn't change the core grinding gameplay enough to make it accessible for us new-school gamers.
I really wanted to like it! I'm sure a ton of folks will, though.
I'm a sucker for JRPGs so can't wait to play this once I have a PSP soon :)
