If you haven't played Fieldrunners on the iPhone yet, the premise is very easy to grasp: enemies pour in from various points on the top-down map and your job is to set up towers around the environment in order to protect your base. The four tower types from the original game return, including the Gatling, Goo, Missile and Lighting towers.
Tower Defense wasn’t always the default genre on the App Store. In 2008, developers were struggling to find a fit for the iPhone’s large touchscreen, and ports of old JAVA and BREW mobile games just weren’t cutting it. Subatomic Studios was one of the first studios to publish a quality tower defense game on the App Store, and five years later, we’re still playing the Fieldrunners series.

Awesome! Hopefully this encourages more developers and publishers to let the customer set their own price.
