Horribly, it's that price tag that ultimately does for Halo 3: ODST. This is a marvellous campaign, and its clever pacing, shifting focus and expert storytelling all heave effortlessly under cover of wisdom inherited from the phenomenal Halo 3. Our fear had been that the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers would struggle to escape the Master Chief's shadow, but the developer's improving craft means they have no difficulty doing so over a short distance. Instead, it's the shadow cast by Halo 3 itself, and its contemporaries then and since, that proves slightly too long and broad for Bungie's valiant efforts of the past 18 months to escape, because no matter the quality of what's on offer, they can't reasonably make the same demand of your wallet, and yet they still do. It's all the more disappointing, because as a roadmap to the future of Halo, if not the future of Bungie, Halo 3: ODST is fantastic.
While some video games overwhelm you with sheer scale, titles like Asura's Wrath and Doom Eternal make you the boss player right upfront.
Wolfenstein: The New Order turns ten years old today, so we decided to play it again and discovered just how much of an extinct kind of game it is.
It's an outstanding game and so was The Old Blood. Also a lost era of gaming. Interesting, I received a physical copy of The Old Blood 9 years ago today from Poland. It was digital only in North America initially upon release so I had to import.
Wolfenstein: The New Order launched 10 years ago today, but can it stand up to the modern FPS titles it inspired?
I disagree. Its still a fantastic game, with very good gunplay and a surprisingly loveable cast of characters and a good story trough many different and interesting setpieces
All The New Order needs for my tastes is a this gen enhancement patch.
I played New Order a couple of years after launch and I give it an 8/10. The shooter holds up because it is focused on being a good shooter. There is no crafting, no RPG elements, no open world find the question mark Weapons are fun. Enemies are fun. Levels offer a nice mix of stealth and shooting. You get to be the predator; this isn’t a game about fending off waves of enemies while a robot companion unlocks a door. Most importantly, New Order is the last of a dying breed of single player shooters.
Weird all the Wolfenstein articles.
Can you guess what will be announced at Xbox showcase?
What Machine Games did with Wolfenstein franchise is awesome. The game play definitely to me , is still very fun to play !!!
Ouch
And xbox360 fans were going crazy saying it was NOT an expansion.
ironic.
54.2 is the right score
so let me get this straight: this POS did not improve upon gaylo 3. the graphics are the same. the maps are the same. guns are the same. it looks dated compared to killzone 2 and still this crap gets an 8.
why are the bots excited about this one?
Oh.My.God.
you don't judge a game on its price. If the price dropped their score at all then that's sad. I don't care what game it is or what system it's on. You shouldn't do that. Judge the game on its own merits, not the price.
I don't care if it got an 8. I was expecting between 8-9, but if that 8 is mostly because of the price then that isn't right.
