Taito's RayStorm HD Shooting Up PSN

Taito has released a new trailer on Famitsu's website for the previously thought Xbox Live Exclusive RayStorm HD. This is a remake of the original 1997 PS1 game. The game will be published by parent company Square Enix for both PSN and XBLA.

The game will sport updated textures and graphics with the same vertical scrolling shooter action we all know and love, and is scheduled to arrive in Fall 2009. I remember playing this in the arcades in the mid-90's. It's a pretty good shooter. I was actually surprised to find the PC version retailing for 4€ a few months ago. Guess old-school isn't dead yet. If only Ikaruga was released on PSN too...

Totally Pumped!!

This game is an absolute classic. I remember having this game all those years ago. The funny thing is I just rediscovered this game on youtube the other day, so you can imagine just how excited I am to find out about a remake. This game is an absolute must buy to anyone who loves sidescroller shooters in general. You won't be disappointed.

There probably will be a demo on XBL, but I think the original game is on PSN for $5.

One could only hope that Ikaruga will make it. I'm praying that if something like Raystorm does well enough, Treasure may get up off of their butts and send us Radiant Silvergun, the Holy Grail of shmups in my opinion.

...and Marceles, you bring up a good point... where is Einhander? It's up in the JPN store, but not in the US.

It's awesome! I was actually wondering about this game the other day.... when is it coming to PSN? Now they're releasing a remake, so I'm pumped. When is this out?
