For those out of the loop, Australia currently doesn't have a censorship rating for videogames over M for mature. Which boils down to any game aimed at adults being banned down under.
Some of the more famous titles that have fallen under the archaic laws of this oppressive regime are GTA IV, Fallout 3 and most recently Sexy Poker.
However oddly enough it seems to be only videogames that the government can't handle as Australia has managed to legalise prostitution, have more sex shops than supermarkets and is quite happy to strap a 14 year old to a lie detector test.
So if you could decide between your child walking in on you playing Fallout 3 or watching Basic Instinct... which do you think would cause more harm?
The game looks too clean without it.
i dont. it hurts my eyes. but im fairly ssensitive when it comes to that sort of stuff.
Amazon has announced its gaming lineup for May 2024 and it is one of the better months especially if you are an Amazon Prime subscriber.
I have Amazon Prime hardly ever use it and these games will not make me jump back to Prime.
Only use Prime for discounts on shipping.

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
in fallout 3 you can...
1. kill a hooker and chop off her head, arms, legs using a chainsaw , and then put her torso on top of a open fire while listening to butcher Pete.
2. Nuke a town killing everyone while listening to butcher Pete.
3. Slay an entire estate ...while listening to butcher Pete.
4. Capture slaves..give the slaves to the slaver...and then shoot the slaver in the face...while listening to butcher Pete.
i would say basic instinct is a Disney movie compared to that...
there was another example just reported today regarding House of the Dead on the Wii.
It really is common sense and we'll eventually get a 18+ rating when they realise it isn't for more adult content, it is for the right classification for the content. at the moment there are a lot of games that should not be 15+.
what do you expect when there a politicians involved?
By not having an R18 cert for games they either A) ban outright, B) make stupid changes to the game which NZ has to pay for, C) pass a game as M when it's classified as an R18 by your neighbors.
It fails on all grounds.
