Gamertell has posted an opinion piece that points out the similarities between characters in two companies' games.

The bratty, teenage girl with delusions of grandeur and the cute, unassuming monster minions seemed familiar somehow. After I finished the tutorial, it hit me. Mira and her tonberry servants seemed eerily similar to Etna and her prinny servants, from NIS' Disgaea and Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? games."

Disgaea main characters evil? Uh...Dood, the power of love and teaching compassion is pretty much the staple of this series. These aren't evil Diablo demons. This is a series that constantly pushes coexist with creatures from all realms living the life they were born into to the best of their ability. Any "evil" from the cast is purely slapstick and nothing more.
Except for Midboss, that guy is evil. Laharl was just a 1313 year old kid with Mommy issues.
CCG writes - "If you've played the Disgaea games, their mascot is the Prinny, the hapless penguin suited souls in penance, and while you can have them as party members, there has never been a game devoted to them alone. At least, there wasn't until this was released for the Sony PSP, and now Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero? has been ported for Switch gamers to enjoy."
