Some good stuff. Too bad I am broke. :(

ps3gamerkyle5410d ago

Haha, I know what your feeling. Same here. =(

Sev5410d ago

I am broke as well. But I have to buy Shatter. The game looks absolutely phenomenal.

Press_Agree5410d ago

Yep, activision made me broke cause MW2 is 54.99 euro

StalkingSilence5410d ago

not sure whether or not to get the WipEout HD Fury DLC, maybe patch 2.00 will convince me (it's out now!)

Finalfantasykid5409d ago

Why did they have to release both the Wipeout DLC and the Killzone DLC at the same time! I'll have to go back and forth between games since I'll be playing both so much.

GameGambits5409d ago

Dissidia Demo ftw! I hope I can play as Zidane in it. Either way demo or not I'm going to buy this game day 1!

I highly suggest to anyone who doesn't own a PSP yet to check out the Dissidia PSP3000 bundle that comes out August 25th. You get about a 100 dollars worth of extra content inside that bad boy.

Lucreto5410d ago

I hope most of these will be true. Dissidia demo will be excellent.

Hey Sev since you did a good job with your predictions at E3 do you have any info at what Sony will be doing at GamesCon next month?

Sev5410d ago (Edited 5410d ago )

@ Lucreto,

I expect an official announcement of the PS3 Slim. And a couple of new exclusives to be revealed.

Other than that, expect a lot of talk about the PSP Go, and all of the new developers that will be supporting the handheld. Most likely we will see some info on the PSP app store.

I am not expecting any major bombs to be dropped. Also I think we wont see much on Last Guardian, and GT5 until TGS.

@ Lucreto Below,

Sorry man, there very well could be a lot more. Most of my info comes from SCEA. This would be a SCEE event.

Lucreto5410d ago (Edited 5410d ago )

I was expecting more for a 3 hour conference.

@Sev above Thats fine, if you get anything from SCEA about SCEE's event do tell us.

DJ5410d ago

And then there's Wipeout and Shatter. Jesus, tons of games coming out.

MetalGearBear 5410d ago

Dissidia: Final Fantasy? I thought they release on august 25 2009?

joemayo765410d ago

for payday this Friday :D!!!!

PlayStation 3 Games That Desperately Need a PS5 Remaster

The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.

Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!

Rude-ro66d ago

I played killzone 3 in 3d and it really changed the game per being immersive.
In vr, that would be even more awesome.

darthv7266d ago

Funny you mention that... my son wanted to play some PS3 games in 3d on my PS tv and he was blown away by how good KZ3 was. It really was a great addition to the game. Im surprised there have not been more 3d games from that era being ported to the PSVR/VR2.

_SilverHawk_66d ago

resistance 1-3, killzone 1-3, uncharted 1-3, uncharted golden abyss, folklore, socom 4 , motorstorm, twisted metal, MAG, heavenly sword

Cacabunga66d ago

Killzone 2+3
Sly Thieves in Time
Crack in Time
God of War Ascension
Motorstorm
Modnation racer
Infamous 1+2

Profchaos66d ago (Edited 66d ago )

Killzone trilogy in VR would be amazing bonus points if they offer shadow fall.

There was a psvr1 Killzone project that supermassive was working on at one stage which wasn't up to scratch and Sony brand it back in house I was hoping we would see that on psvr2 eventually.

Personally I'd love to see some more love or acknowledgement of psvr2 from Sony in general it was a expensive headset and Sony barely acknowledge it's existence

seanpitt2366d ago

The amount of work needed to remaster these games wouldn't be beneficial on a financial and business sense.. MGS4 would probably be the best bet as it would need the least amount of work!

Iceball200067d ago

YEAAASSSSS! I miss this franchise and wanna play it so bad again.

Father__Merrin67d ago

The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer

InUrFoxHole67d ago

The resistance series is str8 trash to me. Socom 3 I would welcome. Or killzone MP.

Marcus Fenix67d ago

A Resistance reboot will be awesome

Michiel198966d ago

That's what Bungie should make, Ill keep saying it until it happens

1Victor67d ago (Edited 67d ago )

Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱

67d ago
Michiel198966d ago

Resistance was the best co-op fps I ever played after L4D2

Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.

1Victor371d ago

Can’t wait for their next franchise

SullysCigar371d ago

Same. They nailed it with Horizon. The trouble is I also want a new Killzone! Can't I just have it all?!

jznrpg370d ago

I’m with you I want Horizon 3 , Killzone and new IPs

badz149370d ago

I have yet to play Burning Shores as I just started Forbidden West (bought at launch, just unwrapped last weekend LOL) and playing on PS5.

man...I still can't believe the graphics especially now I'm playing it on my LG OLED. that graphics and with stable performance backing it up, GG really is the master of their craft!

Vengeance1138371d ago

32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III

Shane Kim371d ago

That's kind of a huge drop though. It's only been two games.

VersusDMC371d ago

One year after realease HZD sold 7.6 million.

https://www.noobfeed.com/ne...

So not a drop off.

Unless you're saying a HFW should have sold as much now as HZD sold in 5 years?

Vengeance1138371d ago

It's been 3 games, this includes Call of the Mountain. Also no, its a great improvement over HZD.

solideagle371d ago

lol you are comparing:

HZD: 28 February 2017 - May 2023 (6 years+)

HFW: 18 February 2022 - May 2023 (1 year+)

We will see if it surpass original number.

Phoenix76371d ago

@shane, 2 full main games, 2 DLC add ons, 1 VR spin off game, oh and a an official LEGO set.
Not too bad for an ip that's only been on market for 6 years

REDGUM370d ago

Wow, very impressive. I didn't know the numbers were so high for Forbidden West. Still playing through it myself

thesoftware730371d ago (Edited 371d ago )

Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.

I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.

blacktiger370d ago

thank you fps lover, I'm with you

talocaca371d ago

Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.

The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.

OzzY-waZZy371d ago (Edited 371d ago )

Kinda wish they move on from Horizon tbh.

potatoseal370d ago

They are probably working on mutiple projects. One of them is Horizon 3, but another is a multiplaer game and probably somehting else.

Imalwaysright370d ago

There were rumours that they were working on a Socom reboot.

Rock Band Doesn't Need Plastic Instruments to Work

I mean, yeah, but was anyone saying otherwise? The fact is people liked the plastic instruments rather than pressing buttons on a controller. They enjoyed the simulated experience.

isarai504d ago

"Work"? No, but to be good? It's absolutely necessary. Not having the accessories is like playing a lightgun shooter with an analog stick sure it works, but one experience is completely unique and fun as hell, and other is torture trying to make do playing in a way it was never meant to be played

LucasRuinedChildhood504d ago (Edited 504d ago )

"trying to make do in a way it was never meant to be played"

I disagree. The accessories were a fun gimmick (and very marketable) but they were added AFTER the genre had been well established with games like Frequency and Amplitude (both also made by Harmonix).

The gameplay formula is different on a controller - there's a focus on switching lanes and contributing to all of the instruments.

Never played Frequency, but Amplitude and Rock Band Blitz were really good. I would love to get more of that kind of game. It's basically a different part of the genre, and stands on its own.

isarai504d ago

The insurmountable difference in popularity between Amplitude and Rock Band proves my point

LucasRuinedChildhood503d ago (Edited 503d ago )

Popularity isn't proof of quality. If it was, then Harmonix wouldn't be making music for Fortnite now. lol. Our disagreement wasn't over which one is more popular. Amplitude and Blitz just aren't "torture" to play.

Rock Band 4 and Guitar Hero Live failed to revive their sub-genre, and Rock Band 4 caused Mad Catz to have to file for bankruptcy. Doesn't mean that instrument-based music games are bad.

It does mean that there's too much overhead and risk for anyone to take a gamble on a big budget game that needs instrument accessories now though.

For the genre to thrive, for now, it needs to do so without the instrument accessories. That's just a fact, unfortunately.

VR games like Beat Sabre (a new sub-genre) and traditional music games make more sense and are more viable right now.

LucasRuinedChildhood503d ago (Edited 503d ago )

*"If quality is always proved by popularity, then Harmonix wouldn't be making music for Fortnite now."

Yi-Long504d ago

I think CHEAP plastic instruments is THE reason why the instrument-genre ‘died’.

People invested in buying the game AND the peripherals, so the guitar, the dj-set, the drum, whatever, and the experience was absolutely fantastic. Great fun, great music, etc.

But then the instruments would break. A button would stop working, or your hits wouldn’t register, and that kind of hardware failure would end in you not being able to play the game as intended, and thus you not getting the scores you deserve.

So, now you had a great game, but a broken instrument, and nobody is gonna buy a new plastic instrument every 3-6 months in order to keep playing the game.

A solution would have been to release better quality instruments (obviously), at a slightly higher price, so you could have kept the new games coming and the genre alive, but sadly, that didn’t happen.

dumahim503d ago (Edited 503d ago )

The only issue I ever had with any of the hardware was the drum pedal on the original rock band set stared to crack in half. The reason I, and other friends I know who played, lost interest is they weren't putting out new tracks that we were interested in anymore. I think earlier this year I looked through the releases for the last 2 years or so, and there was maybe 3 songs I would have bought.

slayernz503d ago

Yeah I had this happen too with my drum controller, I ended up attaching a metal strip to it which fixed it up nicely.

sinspirit504d ago

Can it work? Yes. Does it compare? No.

monkey602504d ago

Bust a Groove, Gitaroo Man and Parrapa the Rappa were such good games. Neither needed any extra peripherals
