Hugh Jackman for Solid Snake.

chaosatom5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

this guy

rucky5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

Yeah like 10 years ago. He would probably make a good Col. Campbell now though.

Mindboggle5446d ago

Adam sandler as solid snake ??

TheBand1t5446d ago

Samuel L. Jackson as Solid Snake (on a plane).

chaosatom5446d ago

he would work best as Drebin.

Tito Jackson5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

I mean, dont get me wrong. He has a lot of good movies. But, Micheal Keaton was a far superior Batman. Hell, even Val Kilmer did a better job. Bale just ran around all stiff, sounding like he had throat cancer.
I liked Bale in The Prestige. Terminator was good, but only b/c it was so action packed---not b/c of Bale himself. I just dont like Bale as a man of action.

Solid Snake? Yeah, I dont think he could pull it off. Hugh Jackman could, but his hair is too dark, and its easier to darken someones hair, than to lighten it---looks more natural as opposed to highlights.
Let me get my silly fantasy choices out of the way: Dolph Lundgren(he would also make a great Duke Nukem). Jean Claude Van Dam(stupid accent would screw it up). William Hung(LMAO, jk).

As for my serious choices: KURT RUSSELL. KEANU REEVES(damn that dark hair again). JOSH HOLLOWAY.

EDIT: @below: yes I saw it. youre the man :)

Greywulf5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

I win! Polls closed.

Defectiv3_Detectiv35446d ago

Bale is sooo overrated. He's the new hollywood it-boy. It wont be long before him and Shia Lebouf star in a buddy comedy, I just don't know which one of them is going to play the monkey.

Mu5afir5446d ago

I think he can fit in to the roll pretty good.

Bnet3435446d ago

Cedric The Entertainer as Raiden.

N4realGMRZ5446d ago

with Morganfell on this one Hugh all the way.

BWS19825446d ago

can do the whole damn movie.

On a serious note, I think Bale was great in Equilibrium if you've seen that. Jackman would be good too...I think we'd have to see a mullet and a mustache on some of them to get a better idea. It's not just the look, but the voice and the mannerisms would have to be nailed as well. They'd have to capture Snake in all facets.

BYE5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

Kojima said that Viggo Mortensen would be perfect for this role.

solar5446d ago

im so tired of movies crapping on video games i like. STOP IT ALREADY!

mfwahwah5446d ago

Bring back Kurt Russell! He's used to playing the Role of Snake Plisskin

thesummerofgeorge5446d ago

I mean Solid Snake was based on his portrayal of Snake Plissken.
If Clint weren't so damn old he'd be perfect.

DMason5446d ago

I agree with Ceekay, I think Viggo Mortensen would be perfect. Hugh Jackman would be okay, I was thinking of possibly Gerard Butler from 300, but then again he doesnt really look like Snake.

Buttons5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

You guys are all wrong.

Just kidding, I think Christian Bale or even Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn ftw) would be a good Snake

morganfell5446d ago

The original Wolverine, Dougray Scott, would also be a great choice for Solid Snake. Most have seen him as the antagonist in Mission Impossible II.

yog-sothot5445d ago

Viggo Mortensen cannot be Solid Snake. No human being can be Aragorn AND Snake, that would be far too unfair, the evidence that there is no justice or god is this mad universe.

Actually it would be a great choice (but in the same time, I'm sick of all the crappy movies based on videogames)

Christian Bale is perfect for the role of Solid Snake

mfwahwah5446d ago

I don't think so. Snake has a unique style and I don't think Bale has it in him to replicate it at all. Like the way Snake crouches and shoots a gun. Or rolls. Or anything like that.

Cyb3r5446d ago

I think Christian Bale looks a lot like Solid Snake

chaosatom5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

no, this guy does.

Mindboggle5446d ago

Come on he does look a bit like snake...

Buttons5446d ago

That's Old Snake, not Solid Snake (even though he technically is Solid Snake)

Unicron5446d ago

Good. After what he did with rewrites to Terminator Salvation (making a meh movie with a cool twist utter summer trash) he shouldn't be let near this series.

Mindboggle5446d ago

Yh but what he did as batman is enough to let him be snake...Screw terminator, it was doomed anyway...

Raptor5446d ago

Bale's best role was as Patrick Bateman in the movie American Psycho. Check it out its brilliant.

INehalemEXI5446d ago

yeah that was his best role.

Unicron5446d ago

His Bruce Wayne/Batman is great. His Patrick Bateman is the best.

But I can't stand arrogant actors who think they can just come in and redo everything as they see fit. Hollywood is going down the tubes faster and faster, and its unfortunate.

Dude4205446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

Arrogant? Sure it was shocking to hear how Bale flipped out at one point, but I think his rewrites are the reason Salvation was at least OK (IMO). I think he even saved it from being a total disaster.

Seriously, did you honestly think this movie would be better if Bale just acted it out when it was under the control of McG, who did Charlie's Angels and the writers, who wrote Catwoman, yeah...Catwoman.

Unicron5446d ago

I think the concept of John Connor being just a voice on the radio until the end is great. I think shoehorning in more screentime for a character that has little to no effect on the plot was a mistake, as it robs both Marcus and Kyle of any kind of real development.

I think the original script was flawed, but had some nice ideas. I think what we got was utter trash.

Dude4205446d ago

I reread my post and if I sounded a bit harsh to you, I'm sorry, we're entitled to our own opinions.

I just think that (IMO of course) if Connor had screentime for 3 minutes and being the voice of the radio during the entire movie, it would of been worse. When I went to go see the movie, I wanted to see a Terminator movie about John Connor. For me I was disappointed in the fact that it was more about the terminator than Connor, but of course the story had to make some sort of sense. I just think the story should of focused more on the developement of Connor and Kyle.

Of course there are going to be 2 more movies with John Connor, but this terminator could of been done in the other 2 movies too.

Anyway I'm not saying this movie is great or even good, it's OK, I just didn't like where the story went.

Unicron5446d ago

Well the original concept was to play up the Kyle/Marcus relationship more, and make Connor the dual side of Skynet, an unseen force/icon/symbol that controls/moves this world.

A lot of scenes between the two of them were removed, and personally I feel, Connor has had 2 movies already which is plenty. Focusing on Kyle wouldn't be a bad thing, especially with the original intended ending and Marcus having a sacrifice that actually hits an emotional beat.

But all this is moot. We didn't get it. My point being, while there are a ton of ways the movie could have been better, specifically the changes Bale wanted simply because he wanted to be Connor and not Marcus show a bit of arrogance as well as a weak willed director/writing team. I'm so sick of Hollywood pushing out unfinished crap. Thank god Iron Man 2 is next year...

Dude4205446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

You make a good point. I don't know whether or not it was a good idea that Bale changed his role for Connor because I don't see Bale as the terminator, I actually see him as Connor. I was actually expecting to see that big guy who's cast in the movie, only to find out his head was replaced by CGI Arnold. However the main terminator wasn't bad either.

Regardless, this definately wasn't Bale's best, I'm sure he could of done better. I just really think since McG was under the helm, this movie went downhill. If it was James Cameron directing, I'm sure Bale's Connor would of been improved. Alright I'm starting to get a bit off track here lol, but like you said, there were so many other ways this movie could of been better.

thesummerofgeorge5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

No dude, Bales rewrites by no stretch of the imagination helped T:Salvation. Him demanding they find Connor an excuse to be in the already written movie messed up an already mediocre at best script. They were rewriting the movie as they filmed just to satisfy Bales desire to be Connor. He wasn't the only problem but he was a major factor in the bullsh!t hack job they did to the Terminator mythology.

I'm a fan of most of Bale's work, but hopefully he's done with the rewrites. Oh and T5 and T6 aren't for sure, after T:S didn't make enough money.

It's all such a shame, T2 was one of my favorite movie growing up.... Still is, but McG ain't Cameron.

Too dated in my book. The AI is way too unpredictable to be acceptable today. It's definitely a game of its time.

Jingsing7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

Agreed with those sentiments. The quality of the CPU controlled characters make or break a stealth game and they are pretty poor in all the Splinter Cell games by today's standard. This is what led me to playing Spies vs Mercs all the time in later games just to get a better stealth experience from a real person. Arguably Sony are making better stealth games albeit not Tom Clancy stuff.

TheProfessional6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

You should stick with fortnite or one of the countless bloodborne style games then. What a joke.

rlow16d ago

I had a good time with the game. It is a product of its time. But when it came out it was a must have game for a lot of people. I wish Ubisoft would make another game in the series or at least a reboot.

vgvill6d ago

They are making a remake, I think. I loved the original game when it was released, but I tried to play it again in recent years and just couldn't get on with it. The same with the older Hitman games.

PrecursorOrb6d ago

Yeah chaos theory still holds up though I gotta say. If you’re a fan of the series I highly suggest you go back to that one. Ubi has said they are remaking sc for “modern audiences”. I don’t have a lot of faith for the future of that company

Chocoburger6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

Due to the lack of modern stealth games, and me constantly playing the MGS series, I've been looking for alternative stealth games to play, and went back and re-played the SC series recently. I wouldn't call SC1 or SC:PT masterpieces, there are AI issues, they're very much trial-and-error games, and that can lead to a lot of frustration. I also found the stories in this series to be boring, uninteresting, and just sloppily told. Cinematics are also of poor quality for both in-game scenes and CG cut-scenes, the soundtrack didn't leave any impression on me either.

Chaos Theory is better, but there was still a lot of room for improvement, and Double Agent (old gen ver.) was a sloppy mess that ended up a regression from CT. But still, at least they tried back then, these days Ubi-junk doesn't even try to make good games!

Nothing. It's up to the gamers to stop consuming content from companies that they don't agree with.

Garethvk12d ago

How do you know if you agree with it or not unless you play it? Which without conventions forces gamers to rely on trailers. Perhaps Demos should be made more frequently. But companies need to do better as well.

anast12d ago

Wait until release. Watch Gameplay. Exercise patience.

Garethvk11d ago

But is that not what they have now? Tons of gameplay or are you talking about watching actual gamers play it versus the trailers and streams? The big issue is that some companies pay streamers and influencers and they create content but for me; that is hardly a fair, unbiased, and factual look at a game.

1nsomniac12d ago

Get rid of the suits in the industry and job done!!

Garethvk12d ago

They usually are attached to the money sadly. It would be nice to have gamers in charge but you have so much money invested that business people are needed. Hence the issue; you need people who know business but are also gamers who know have an eye to the community. It sounds simple in theory that if you give gamers quality games that they want to play; money will be made. But that is not always so.
