Is Xbox Live Primetime's 1 Vs. 100 Becoming Pay To Play?

The times I've been playing 100,000 or more people have been playing. There are 100 of those selected to be "The Mob" and 1 selected to be "The One." They're the only ones who are eligible to get points.

By answering questions correctly and eliminating mob members who get them wrong, the one builds up a pot of points. If he stops the game before answering correctly, he gets the points in the pot. If he answers a question incorrectly, the points in the pot are split among remaining mob members.

They are talking about a Season Pass for Silver members. It's free to Gold subscribers, but if Silver members want to play, they would have to buy a Season Pass. I can tell people didn't read the article, so I do it for them.

I have set reminders and tried to get in but each time it says it is full. I can't really believe there is only 1 session of the game being played at that time. It should be more like if you aren't playing then you should be allowed to watch. Maybe the full release will allow for spectators.

If this were a home thing, there would be a session per home instance. Wait, aren't you ltd to something like 60 people in a home instance?

Think of all the cool prizes you could win if they had a pay-to-play system which was optional. Like if you could pay 100 microsoft-points to play a round, and the winner gets a game for free or a few months of xbox live. And you could have a grand finale where you win something awesome.

Since this is online only game surely paying for XBL is enough, I'm not sure on this but Resistance 2 is non suscription based and that has 60 which is less than 100 BUT this is 60 in a FPS while 1 vs 100 isn't and so lag isn't too much of a problem.

Isn't MAG free to play online and THAT'S 256!

I will renue my gold but I will not pay for this.

Fast and fun to play. Sometimes it's hard to get into the beta. Suprise to had some of my friends to try this game and they love it.

It's business. You charge the price that gets you the maximum profit. It's what every business does. Sony does it by charging for crap in Home. Nintendo does it by releasing ANOTHER version of the DS.

...because they know it's what people will pay. That's just good business.

And if you, self-righteous consumer, don't want to pay for something... don't. No one is prying this cash out of your pockets. They propose a price, you either take it or leave it.

Are they sure they saw purchase? and not just Season Pass. Season Pass could be like a DVR/Tivo where it sets up reminders for the entire season.

Doesn't really make sense to charge the players for this game, since the in game ads/commercials are suppose to pay for the prizes and game.

I always assumed that they showed the time it was on based on your time zone. I'm central standard and it's right on target from when they say it begins.

Whoa.. bad idea if they plan on charging for this. I do not put it past MS however.. Nickel and Dime city. I will say without a doubt I will not spend 1 more nickel or dime on my XBL services. You already started in a hole with GOLD providing little incentive beyond playing MP. MS has been going on and on about adding value to Gold and if they do this and then turn around and charge more they are freaking insane.

EDIT: Just read comment #16 so if this is for Silver than it's a non-issue for me.
