E3 is heralded as the biggest gaming event of the year, attended by journalists from all around the gaming globe, with publishers saving their latest and greatest announcements for the prestigious expo. But the event also carries with it a not so subtle underbelly. No, we're not talking about corporate espionage, suspicious charges to escort services on company credit cards or bare skin fistfights beneath the expo stage. We're referring to the epic cockfight that underlies every new announcement of every game.
Games are branded with a specific camp in mind, be it in Spiderman font, green lettering or recently grey-ified typeface. Hell, even multiplatform titles are showcased on one system or another in an attempt to bolster the poorly veiled grudge match that occurs weekly across the internet channels and more openly at the bigger gaming events. Whenever an opportunity rears its head, someone takes a shot across someone else's bow. And then of course, there's the numbers and figures that get conveniently released around about the time of a major expo.
Xbox 360 launched 18 years ago and was a generation-defining console that invited many people to jump into gaming for the first time and connect with friends around the world. We’re thrilled people continue playing their favorite Xbox 360 games on Xbox 360, or on newer consoles via Backward Compatibility for supported titles.
"we believe in game preservation"
Remember the media reaction when PlayStation wanted to shut down the PS3 store (but then kept it open)... where is that reaction here?
RIP Xbox 360 digital store and all its games.
It really grinds my gears that they are waiting till 10 days before closing to give the best discounts and the list as of now is 100 or less titles from the massive 360 library
I should have enough points by the weekend to get £25 credit off MS, (hardly ever spend money on xb1), might look at a few of these.
The Xbox 360 store was one of the only advantages the Xbox Series consoles had over the PS5. When I got my series X, I spent more playing Xbox 360 games vs current-gen Xbox games since that was the golden era for Xbox and several titles had enhancements such as 4k resolution and fps boost.
Closing this store will now only benefit the competition.
Backward compatibility works for many games on newer consoles, but titles such as The Simpsons: Hit and Run have been left out.
From base building to swinging willies, here are the best survival games around, which include a couple of less than obvious picks.
Good god, first lets talk about the site, the fact that you have 15 pages with 2 lines on each one is borderline criminal and you have a ad that pops up 5 seconds in, blocking what little text their is.
And PSN includes PsP accounts, and people with forum accounts on Playstation.com
Enough facts to prove the winner.

If SONY counts them. Hey it's the numbers game again, ok i'm willing if you are.
M$ states 30million consoles sold.
How many are replacements. How many people have bought a second one because of the first being broken, or sometimes dodgy.
I know many have a backup 360.
Have they really sold 30mil. na, don't be silly.
That 33% was going on for quite some time.
After that it was down to 15%
And even now it borders around 5-10%
Around 3000 xbox360 per store were being sent back to M$. $10million dollars worth from EB aus.
And you think M$ are really at 30million.
If the real numbers came out, you'd know the real sales numbers are about 24million.
The fact that there are more PSN memberships then PS3's sold speaks volumes.
I'm sorry, I have never seen such a blatant grab for website hits in all my life... 15 pages with about 2-3 lines of text on each, this could have been condensed into 1-2 pages easily.
Nice work Gameplayer, you have officially turned me off your website. Anyone from the site care to give an explanation for this practice, cause it is quite frankly disgraceful.
