Assassin's Creed 2 Will Leave You Wanting More

According to Assassin's Creed II creative director, Patrice Désilets, Assassin's Creed II will end in a huge cliffhanger. He also hints at a twist at the end of the game.

another cliffhanger ending where we wonder "WTF?" Yeah, they are really milking this one already. As long as it's good, there are no complaints. I will say I am getting tired of crappy endings in video games though.

Hopefully it is just setting up for a third installment and no more. I would love to see Desmond himself take the fight to the Templar. However, any more than a trilogy would be pushing it.

Yay! I absolutely loved the ending to the first one. How it just suddenly stopped with absolutely no closure and having just spent the past hour fighting wave after wave of enemies and punching up an old man with super powers...

That was my one biggest gripe about the first game, the ending was an abomination.

Personally I loved the plot of the first game and the ending was cool and very cryptic.

I don't understand this attitude a lot of people have in which a game has to have perfect closure for it to be satisfying. I don't need everything to be explained to me and every possible question to be answered.

Anyway, Assassin's Creed was a brilliant game and the sequel is one of my top 5 most anticipated games. Ubisoft Montreal is one of the best game studios on the planet in my opinion. Their games tend to suit my tastes very well. I loved Assassin's Creed and I loved Prince of Persia and I know I am going to love Splinter Cell Conviction.

The last one is kiiiiinda a continued ending. Altair's (the crusade-era character you actually play as) story is complete. But Desmond, the guy in the modern age who does little more than lie there in AC1, has more story ahead. You definitely end up caring more about Altair though. I expect the same for Ezio in in AC2.

I liked the cliffhangers in both Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed I

Hopefully this time in ACII, Desmond won't be as gay as the first and we get to play a level of him escaping Abstergo Altair/Ezio style

Well, I hope it doesn't leave me wanting more in the way the first one did. Lack of variety in gameplay isn't a good way to make me want more. If they're fixing that as they promised, I'll be quite happy.

I sorta love and hate cliff hangers at first i believe why do they make me wait at least 2 years the b@stards!!! but then think wow not bad. The 3rd volume definately has to take place with desmond in a modern day world though. That would be AWSOME

They can practically go anywhere with the story and that is part of what is so cool about the Assassin's Creed games.

The first game was a little repetitive but it was still one of the best games I have ever played. Most games are very repetitive anyway. Think about how repetitive a game like Killzone 2 and Gears of War 2 are. You just shoot wave after wave of enemies and advance forward. Sure there are a few different scenarios like where you use the mech in Killzone 2 or ride the Reaver in Gears 2, but fundamentally you're still just shooting at stuff. I think a lot of people simply don't appreciate the kind of gameplay in Assassin's Creed, but if you do like it the repetition isn't a big deal, because you are enjoying yourself.
If they add even more types of things to do, all the better. But the first one was still such an awesome game. The graphics, plot, atmosphere, animations, free-running and climbing, the combat system, the huge cities and open worlds, the flag collecting, and the assassinations all added up to one of the funnest and most immersive games I have ever played.

Assassin's Creed is the most successful new IP of all time. Its not surprising that they're building the second game with the third in mind. I just hope that story and gameplay elements aren't taken away because of this.

I know i'm getting flamed for that, but to me Ass'Creed was one of the biggest disappointment i've ever had (with Fable 2). Sure, technically it's nice and the OST is made by (master) Jesper Kyd.

But the gameplay was really boring, missions were very repetitive (even the architecture of each mission was repetitive, wtf?), i hated the future / past relationship (i wished Ass'Creed was only based on the past), the plot was really classic, and the ending was one of the most disappointing i've ever seen (however it wasn't the first game to end like this, but it's the first one to disappoint me from the beginning to the end).

So i'm half excited about Ass'Creed 2, i REALLY hope Ubi made significant improvements and heard their fanbase, but the last trailer and the last gameplay video (where there is a flight with De Vinci's flying machine) still didn't convince me. Shouting "SURPRISE" months before is the worst way to really be surprised.

You know that was my problem with the first AC, i thought it was a good game albeit a bit repetitive but the ending just sucked. It sucked so much it damaged the image of the game for me. I mean there are cliffhangers then there's the AC ending which is just an abrupt stop, sure you know there's going to be a sequel but not because it was such a well done cliffhanger rather it was so sh*tty you just know there has to be more. It almost felt like being spit on for finishing the game rather than any rewarding sense of pride.

So to already warn gamers that the next one ends in a "Cliffhanger" isn't really a smart move as it may scare away people who hated that aspect of the first one.

Now i know the game is a "Trilogy" and of course no game but the last will end on a definitive note but that does not mean the games before it all have to end abruptly and uninspired, there is this thing called subtlety.

Well by the time I was halfway through the second town in AssCreed 1 I had already had enough.

The game was boring at best and monotonous at worst. And not having A FRIKIN' JUMP BUTTON in a free running game was a huge disappointment.

AssCreed was one of my most anticipated games and one of my biggest disappointments right there with GTA4. =[

Honestly, I didn't even beat the game. It just got too repetitive and the narrative didn't provide any motivations.

But if the story of the second one is any good, I'll definitely get into that one.

I loved the first one so I can't wait to play the second one.

The only thing that I was upset about with Assassin's Creed was it came out in Nov. of 2007 at $60 then one month after Christmas the game was on store shelves for $30.
