PSP Trophies Still a Ways Off; Definitely in the Works

PlayStation LifeStyle writes:

"A photo snapped of SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 being played on the PSP shows an image of a trophy being unlocked. However when an attendee at the E3 '09 PS.Blog meet-up got 20 headshots in Fireteam Bravo 3, what appeared to be an image of a trophy being unlocked popped up. When a Slant Six developer was asked about the "trophy", the attendee was then told it was only an in-game award. They also mentioned that the PSP currently does NOT support trophies, but the infrastructure was there if trophy support were ever to be implemented on the PSP (think Uncharted Medals).

Looking at the image below you can easily see that the trophy/in-game award doesn't match up with the current PSN trophy unlocked notification that is seen on the PlayStation 3."

I think trophies/achievements/gamersco re/gamerlevel might turn some people towards the dark side.

I don't know if it will convince the Japanese enough however due to no pikkachu. Then again I'd rather hunt monsters than trap mammals.

Trophies on PSP would rock my socks off!

Bring on the trophy whores!!!!!!

Trophies on the PSP would increase replayability of any games that are on the handheld, obviously. I would love it, and I'm sure it would make the handheld a bit more appealing over the competition :P

Will I buy a game from Slant six.

Yeah but that was their first outing on the PS3. Their PSP titles were always solid. Remember, they've made quite a few of them.

One of the things that fails this entire series is lack of promotion by SCEE, since day 1 socom has had almost 0 advertising in the EU, most people don't even know it exists or think its an FPS.

Ok, why have I never played these games?

They sound right up my alley. The tactics, the stealth, the squad commands.

I'd always thought they were aimed more at online play, I never realised the single player was so substantial.

When the first game came out, Conflict Desert Storm came out too and I was really into it, at least for the first two games. Maybe thats why I never got into them.

Now I'm hoping this will be the next HD remake. To be honest I think the fanbase would go nuts over it if all the online features were intact.

PSP Getting Line Up Of $9.99 Retail Games

Silconera writes: "PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe was just the beginning. Sony Computer Entertainment America is planning to re-release some first party titles into stores and sell them for a mere $9.99.

A script for an upcoming TV commercial has the news and mentions some of the titles. Hot Shots Golf, SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo, and Twisted Metal: Head On are shown in a video montage."

Eurogamer.it Review: SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3

Eurogamer.it: I'm tired of the usual game-based political fiction and marines fucksters able to save the world simply on making massacres massacres.
