A new MMORPG for the PS3: "Angel Senki" has been announced today, and is set for a fall release in Japan. The game iteslf will be free and prices are charged on a pay-per-item basis.

TheSixthAxis: Angel Senki is a free-to-play item-based role player from Q Entertainment, and will hit the Japanese PS3 Store next week. The PS3 port (there's already a PC version) will allow players to log in using their PSN account details, which then gets linked up to Q Entertainment's online website. Angel Senki on the PS3 sports a new controller-friendly interface with much better item select, with the company aiming to make money via online purchases.

Ok so if you need to buy stuff in order to be able to advance in the game, then it really isn't free now is it?
But without anymore details about the gameplay then it's hard to say whether micro transactions will rule the game.
It might be like Free Realems..
You can progress through the game w/o buying stuff.. but certain classes or items can only be obtained via microtranscations.
But we'll find out.
I dont think they'll penalize the players that much, its mostly likely the approach taht every Free MMO takes atm. sell nice Item Mall stuff that people WILL spend money on. I mean look at Home, people buy the clothes n stuff, makes the Home servers n stuff worth maintaining.
Its like every other MMO w/micro-transactions: you pay for customization. The more someone gets into the game, the more they'll want to customize their characters. Doubt its anything where you'd have to "buy in" to go further into the world. Can't think of any MMO that does that.
Sky, I wouldn't get that worked up about VidZone, it's pointless unless you actually like watching music videos, otherwise just use Spotify on your PC/Mac.

Actually I have friends over n we play poker and stuff. It'd be nice to have some music videos running and anyone can feel free to put their liking up.
Its not a service I'd refuse to have, but neither a service I cant live without ^^

I believe in the past three months or so, developers/publishers had announced about ten exclusive games for the PS3 and for the PSP about twice as many.

OMFG!.. I just went to few pages back and there are more than TWELVE Playstation 3 exclusive announced in the last TEN days.
