New Playstation 3 RPG Announced

The latest Famitsu issue features a new Playstation 3 role-playing game. Titled "Trinity Universe," the game will be published by Nippon Ichi Software and is being developed by Idea Factory.

Since the PS3 is the only system that has no region locks on games anybody can buy these games (which are often cheaper) and play them anywhere.

NI are the best RPG Devs at present and i'm glad they are supporting PS3 so much. Companys like SE have faded away and NI have become the best. You don't need top graphics for a great RPG. Just great playability.

NI? I think Desgaea is the only RPG released in the US that gamers only half crapped on. Maybe they can finally get there stuff together and release a decent RPG this time.

Seriously guys, almost every game NIS makes is guaranteed quality with incredible replay value (Disgaea 1-3, Prinny: CIRBTH, Cross Edge, Makai Kingdom, etc.). Don't diss a company when you can't even spell the name of their most popular games.

On a more related note: wow, that sounds awesome. Two different scenarios, one for GUST and one for NI means lots of Disgaea cameos and all in 3D. Was a bit disappointed Etna and Prinny were the only characters in XEdge (still totally anticipating it) but this entirely makes up for it.

I agree Idea Factory don't have top developers like other big Japanese game companies,
however, as a PS3 owner I still give them credits because they try hard to develop RPG games for PS3....
not like "one" famous RPG company spent years and still not able to release any PS3 game
Cross-Edge also from Idea Factory and it better than I thought
so I think this game should be worth to buy

Nippon Ichi Software is also planning to announce a Playstation 3 game tomorrow developed by Hit Maker. With a new Yakuza game also on the way, Playstation 3 fans should be pleased with the latest support from Japanese developers.

I beleive that theone from idea factory is not the same one that is going to be announced later on today. Man where are all thes rpgs coming from?

With a 2 year head start thats not a bad looking list but seriously FFXI??? You are really trying aren't you? Well ps3 is not too bad as well you know, we got White Knight Chronicles, Demon Soul, Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea 3, cross edge & Foklore(some may argue its not so i am not including it). O ya you do know that Tales is coming to PS3 as well right? So with a 2 years gap 360 has about 7 more rpgs than PS3 (thats including DLC for your fallout and Tales)

So honestly I don't think PS3 is doing too badly =)

The PS3 RPGs are coming and a few are already here. Eternal Sonata, which was denied by Namco-Bandai is here. I have zero doubt that a PS3 version of Star Ocean 4 will appear. S-E would be stupid to deny Star Ocean's home audience the chance to play it. Tales of Vesperia is also on it's way to our console. Valkyria Chronicles is the single, highest rated Tactical RPG on any system to this day this generation, and Demon's Souls is the most addictive hardcore RPG available on any system. The PS3 RPGs are coming, it's only a matter of time.

This gen has had some bad RPG, becuase of the lack of great JRPGs like previous gens. Only ME and Lost Odyssey are worth the time and money.

for the most part jrpgs have never sold well outside japan. Final Fantasy has been the only series to transcend the genre and appeal to a mass market outside japan.
