Planet Xbox 360: UFC 2009 Undisputed Preview

PX 360 writes: "Over the past couple years the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has been making moves to try and become accepted as a legitimate professional sport all around the globe. The company's head-honcho Dana White is pushing the company into all new areas and part of that is the upcoming video game from publisher THQ and experienced Japanese developer Yuke's. Last week we have had the opportunity to spend a good bit of time with the final build of UFC 2009 Undisputed and came away very pleased with the sport's first true outing (we can't count the previous games as they were so horrid) into our beloved industry. The most important aspect to get right with this game was the actual gameplay mechanics, without a strong foundation there is no hope for a long-term franchise success."

I think the best part about this game is when your guy is laying on his back getting his faced beat in. You make the transition moves and he doesn't do them, oh man is that great or what! Also, when you are standing up and front of your opponent and all you want to do is back up because you are getting hit and he won't move, that's just another satisfying moment too!

I did not/ do not understand why so many people liked blur i thought it was not very good as for the others i cant say anything. though i was hoping MAG would of been on the list was playing it last night nice to see there is still a community playing the game after so long and despite its lack of reception!

I loved blur. It had loads to do on the single player, and a good online system. The courses were varied with locations a little different to most racers. Also to top it all off it was very pretty with laser beams and disco light streaks chasing after people... That and it allowed me to drive a rat look beetle :)

I hope that helps you to understand at least why some people may have liked it.

OOG4104d ago

agreed blur was awesome

EbeneezerGoode4104d ago

Agreed. Blur was awful. Truly a terrible game. If was nowhere near the developer's previous efforts on quality nor gameplay.

If anything BLUR was over-rated. Big Time. It was really messy looking, and totally non-fun to play.

Hicken4104d ago

I had a VERY different opinion of Blur. I thought it was an excellent game. Had lots of fun, and wouldn't mind a sequel later this gen or next.

FaSCoRP4104d ago

Blur was good. The point is it was hard, some people does not have the guts, patience or skill to keep up. It was a Bizarre game, you have to be skilled

EbeneezerGoode4104d ago

Really? So that's why I absolutely LOVED PGR3 is it? Blur was nowhere near the class of PGR3 and that is why it failed for me. The cars felt weird, the tracks looked cartoony, the over bright neon mess of pick ups were ill considered and immersion ruining. It was TOO arcade for it's own good.

FaSCoRP4102d ago

Well but Blur never tried to be a Racing Sim, it was like a Mario Kart with a nice graphic engine a more "not so kart" handling.

EbeneezerGoode4102d ago

well maybe it SHOULD have tried to be more, it's poor reception showed it didn't please many people but I'm happy if you got fun out of it. I believe they could have done a lot better based on their past games.

I hope EA does not get the exclusive license renewal for Madden.

Dark_Overlord4349d ago

EA needs to be up in court on anti competitive charges, this being another in a long line of sh*t they pull. The worst though is the crap they pull with football, I mean making sure no one else can make a deal with the clubs is complete BS.

All I have to say is I called it & it is for the better, can't wait to play it !!!
