MMA is one of the most intense and exciting sports to watch, but notoriously violent. For those not up to the intense dedication and training that learning MMA take, PS3 and Xbox offer a number of games which are the next best thing.
Probably my favorite MMA game ever made (that this article doesn't list, probably because it wasn't released outside of Japan) is Garouden Breakblow: Fist or Twist.
It's based off the manga Garouden and it pits fighters against each other. While a lot of the moves are exaggerated, it has a very realistic feel to the game and a lot of the submissions look so much more painful than in games like UFC Undisputed.
One thing I love about Garouden Breakblow is that the healthbars are shared, so it's also a game of tug-of-war, so matches can go on for a long time.
In the video I've included, skip to 2:47. That match is so awesome. You'll see moves like the Anaconda Choke, Mounted Punches with Armbar, Kimura, Triangle Choke and so on.
