I loved SO3. SO4 is the worst game I have played in a very long time. I completed Tales of Vesperia and Xenosaga out of sheer spite. SO4 was so bad I couldn't bare to play anymore. Bad writing, bad characters, bad (artistic) graphics, bad voice acting. Beyond Painful. PS3 does not want this.

From what I've heard, other than it's 'not exactly great' story, characters, etc. it's got an addicting battle system that's really fun to play.

Whether this is legit or not, that SO4 is coming to PS3 is pretty obvious. Microsoft would never miss the opportunity to stick a 'Only on 360' label on one of their games unless they weren't allowed. As SO4's clearly not coming to Wii and it's not coming to PC as RPGs rarely do well there, the PS3 is the only possibility to consider.

I don't care if 360 owners think it's mediocre i want Star Ocean 4, Tales of Vespera AND The Last Remnant/Infinite Undiscovery (one of those two is out already but i never see either of them in games stores in the PS3 section.)

I love fantasy jrpgs, i dont care about the actual plots either, just the game play, visual aesthetic, and magic use.

The closet thing i have to any of that is Folklore. Valkeria Chronicles is not my taste, its like whatever FF:Tactics was and i havnt been in to that game genre since the PS1, not to mention (from what i've seen) it's war themed so characters don't really use magic. (though i have been told otherwise, i havnt seen it)

God I hope not I have got to be one of the biggest Ace Combat fans ever. I've played all of them an after playing 6 on a friends 360 it had to be the worse of them all. I'd rather play H.A.W.X, Ace Combat went from delivering the best, to almost no improvement at all. Less planes, one of the smallest increases in graphics they have ever had if they even increased at all an yea about that story by far the worst. All this from one of the franchises that was one of the first if not the first to use satellite mapping.

As much as people are talking about it, Vesperia will likely tank, not do as well as 360 sales, just because its second hand. Additional content or no.

Square and other devs only shot themselves in the foot by putting their JRPGs on a platform the actual fan base wasn't expecting them to be on.

As to the pic, calling it fake. There does seem to be imperfections you'd get from a scan, but usually when something like this spills more of the page is sown. Ones like this just focusing on the subject tend to be fake.

Well, I think it shows that the whole timed exclusive thing, at this stage in the console cycle, is a foolish thing. Fans are getting screwed. You have people who buy the console because they are promised exclusive rights to a game. Then they find out a year later a better edition is hitting the console they DON'T own. So much for exclusive eh?

Exclusive titles are great. Exclusive DLC for multiplatform titles, and this faux "timed exclusive" crap is just hurting fans I feel. I also don't care how well or poorly it does, as long as I get to play it.

I agree, it hurts the fan and the company. The hardcore fan will buy the game when it first comes out but many gamers this generation expect most third party to go multiplatform. As a result, many gamers that would have purchase will wait. The game is announce and release on the other system, but many gamers have already moved on. The hardcore fan will get shut out of new exclusive contents.

If the company had released it for both system at once, they can gain more sales.

Even if SO:TLH comes out on PS3, I won't have the time and money to get it, had it came out 2 months ago on the PS3 also, I probably would have purchased it.

Also I'm Sure Japan would also care sense PS3 install base is bigger than Xbox360 in japan and RPGs practically sell for example the recently released FF7 Bluray movie that contained the FF13 Demo sold 70k along with selling 57k PS3 units. A one hour Demo! Wow!

But then we get into the argument of why not just buy a 360. Which after all the fanboy BS leads you, as a fan of the series, back into getting burned by the PS3 version.

A pain I'm really starting to feel having just learned the news that the next Front mission game might be 360 exclusive.

If they, MS and Square, are going to do cr*p like this, announce established franchise as exclusive, they need to say so early in the console's life. Not in the middle or towards the end with the game in question 1-2 if not more years from release besides.

That's the true FU to the fans of the game they're trying to appeal to.

I'm so glad to have read comments about how others thought the SO3 plot twist was a joke. Not often I come into any contact of people who played it let alone finished it to know it was a waste of time once you hit that Matrix BS twist. The plot was so engrossing up to that point then it just plummets. It's the same way in SO4. Story starts of good and slowly snowballs into crap territory and its predictable too.

SO4's battle system is by far the best in the whole series and is a step above Tales Of game series' battle system too.(Which share many things) I suppose for any die hard fans or big PS3 RPG enthusiasts who don't own a 360 this is some good news, but honestly they'll be pretty disappointed once its all said and done.

If PS3 people want an awesome RPG right now import a copy of Demon's Souls English version. I have it and this game fists the competition right now for RPGs. It's a unique game in many ways and my favorite two things are 1) HUUUUUUUUUGE bosses. Massive. Like a Dragon God taking up a whole volcano in size epic scale size. 2) The game has no mercy for the weak. This game is hard so you have to be smart, be quick, and plan ahead.

If the 360 ever saw Demon's Souls then the PS3 folks should be mad, because as it stands this is the best RPG exclusive on PS3 right now.(White Knight Chronicles probably being the next best when we get it)

Demon's Souls is an amazing game for us hardcore RPG fans. It truly is amazing and the bosses are beyond epic. Considering that SCE helped produce it with FROM Software, I have zero belief that it will show up on the 360. Demon's Souls this gen is the very definition of hardcore and I invite all who love these games to get it. I imported it on the day of it's release and it is the reason I'm loving my PS3 lately.

the plot of SO4 is a joke. the 3D character model is so horrible it became a pain to watch the cutscene. however the battle system is pretty good and i love the sight out system! but the crappy plot combined with crappy 3D model give me no motive to keep playing...

Demon soul on the other hand, is truly a amazing piece for those who want some challenge and like dark fantasy story.

Everybody hates so3 for that plot twist . me i was like wtf , but it absolutely couldnt kill all the fun and good times i had with the game . Especially when imo the second had such a crappy storyline .

I always felt that SO most , or at least like half of the tri ace games , had poor plots , and showed brilliance in just two things : gameplay and always mindblowing graphics .

Each SO has been that way , except for SO4 , wih i dont get . I dont get how the game lost one of his main quality . It's still good and it's not ugly , but it's definitely not the graphical masterpiece in expected , while it does the job i expected in gameplay .

If you want a game that you have to play smart to beat, the Demon's Souls IS that game! You can level grind all you want, but if you dont learn the enemies attacking tendencies, you will get owned. It really involves you in the combat - its not just a button masher or level grinding game.

MY title says it all, but ya, since PS3 has a large install base in Japan, I am assuming it would do well in that country on the PS3. It did boost 360 sales there, and as someone already said, it has been enhanced beta tested for the 360, so Square Enix will hopefully take it from the top and fix the problems, enhance the visuals, and put it on one blu ray disc, and it will sell pretty damn well. The real question is, why wouldn't PS3 owners welcome every game that comes there way? It's an extra addition to the library and it will probably be better on the PS3. The IGN rating for this game was a perfect 8. With enough revising and additional content,as well as enhanced visuals and Japanese dialog (the English dubs I hear are BASURA), I bet the rating could potentially jump to an 8.7, maybe even a 9 if they go the extra mile with it.

The thing is fake or not the scans do prove ne obvious thing-more PS3 gamers would've picked up SO4 even with the awfultech issues as more jrpg fans bought PS3(after foolishly thinking SE would stick to their word-and I thought that mweant something to the Japabese, honour and all that).

Been playing one of the re releases of the stellar originals on PSP and would pick this up for PS3 IF they don't have the slow down and other probs the 360 version had-plus extras of course.

Nothing to do with console fanboyism just that I feel the market for SO4 and other jrpgs is bigger both east and west on PS3-and one day God will smile and a Persona game will go HD on PS3 too!

Honestly, there's no reason why Star Ocean IV wouldn't come to PS3 eventually... think about the MS press conference where the Square guy SPECIFICALLY stated that Infinite Undiscovery was exclusive and The Last Remnant was timed exclusive... when he brought up the new Star Ocean, all he said was that "it's coming to the 360 this Spring"... slick wording but I never thought for once that this would remain a complete exclusive to the 360.

Whether this article is legit or is a mistake doesn't mean much to me, I still believe it will come to the PS3 sooner or later

game probably does suck I never played it but the reviews weren't high....but just for the simple fact it could be fit on 1 disc with probably more content it will sell ok on ps3. That seems to be the trend nowadays 360 people get to beta test games for us and we all get the true finished version of the game.

Is this really news to anyone? Of course it's comming to PS3. If you take a look at the box art you'll notice that it doesn't say "Only on xbox360" SO that means Yes it's going to PS3. Unlike Tales of Verperia. Which is only comming to japan because america has that logo on the front saying that it's only on xbox 360.

So, if the are true or not... I don't know. But I want it and I won't buy a xbox360 just for this... so not. PS3 version on US = a money from me to buy it. Simple isn't ^^

Star Ocean 4 on PS3 wow when Square decides to announce a release date for it the PS4 and Xbox 720 will be on the market. I tried the 360 version and turned it off after an hour cause it was boring and glitchy. Square does not even have a confirmed release date for Last Remnant on PS3 and honestly these two games I could careless about. I want WKC, Tales of Vesperia, and a new Wild Arms game on the Ps3. I wonder what will be everyones reaction if Square announces Infinite Undiscovery for PS3?

All this hate for S04 when probably none of you noobs even tried the game.

S04 is an awesome JRPG and if it was exclusive to Ps3 these tunes would sound opposite and S03 would have been one of the best Ps2 rpg's and S04 would be set to surpass and all that other junk that spawns in a tools mind.

it really does seem like the shoe is on the other foot. karma is a b*tch, and i distinctly remember what it was like on this site in 2006 and 2007, when the PS3 "had no games," "sh*tty ports," "crappy online," and was constantly "losing exclusives."

now it's the other way around, and suddenly the 360 fanboys are like, "who cares, more games for everyone!" but they couldn't help rubbing Playstation 3 fanboy's noses in it just two years ago.

from what i've heard from friends who have SOIV on the 360, it's a mediocre RPG at best.

personally, i'm more interested in Tales of Vesperia, which i hear is much better.

most of the RPGs this generation have been lacking, with only a few relatively decent ones. i'm playing the Japanese import of White Knight Chronicles, and so far, it's the first RPG i've played this gen that i'm really enjoying. i'm hoping when FFXIII and FFVersusXIII hit, that'll start the trend towards better RPGS.

it generally takes a few years into a generation before the REALLY good RPGs start to come out, because it takes time to produce something of quality, but i imagine that because development this gen is so difficult, it's taking even longer for truly outstanding RPGs to be produced.
