I find it odd how Rumor Killers repeatedly and consistently reports pro-PS3 rumors (such as Fallout 3 DLC, Left 4 Dead Port, Mass Effect 2 on PS3, or in this case Gears 2) as "Highly unlikely" or "Rumor killed" whereas pro-360 rumors are embellished with all sorts of reasons and explanations for why it is "highly likely". Need I remind anyone that the exact same reasons for Gears 3 being on 360 only (Microsoft wouldn't let this one go, Gears is an important franchise, etc) are the very same arguments Sony fanboys used to "prove" that Final Fantasy 13 would be PS3-exclusive?

as for your FF13 argument how is Gears of War in that position?

Every Square Enix game to be published this entire gen on consoles combined is outsold by the Gears of War series which is just 2 games.

Epic isn't in a detrimental financial position.

Square Enix doesn't have that open house pool of 150+million consoles to swim around in.

Remember Sony "doesn't" pay for exclusives anymore there sitting high on that horse.

MSFT is still in it's investment stage in this console world helping out 3rd party devs.

The support MSFT gives to these 3rd party devs will pay off in the long run only short minded people see it as a waste.

exclusive demos, taking 3rd party exclusives from PS3, then I absolutely doubt they'd EVER let Sony get Gears on PS3. It would be too much. MS doesn't have much in the way of in-house games. They'd essentially have Halo as their one exclusive franchise. I suppose Fable could be argued as well but that isn't enough.

I wish MS paid as much money towards making a 360 that didn't RROD rather than spending so much on exclusive DLC.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Gears 3 on PS3. It really depends how many copies Epic thinks they can sell on PS3. If they believe they can sell 2 million copies on PS3. Then lets say Epic makes $30 per copy sold. That is 60 mill MS would have to pony up for lost sales. I'm not saying MS won't do it but that's a lot of dough.

Even if Gears did come to the PS3, I've played the first two and would buy the 3rd for the 360. It's one of the reasons I own a 360.

Sony owns the Killzone IP and the development house behind it. Epic owns the Gears IP and have no obligation to MS for the 3rd installment of the game. So how exactly is one as likely as the other?

Heavy Rain in July although unlikely could happen there reasoning as to why not is just sad, theirs no news? First there was news in August not that long ago, they have steadily been releasing concept art and in game models for the last few months and David Cage has said he doesn't want to show ant of the game because he doesn't want to ruin the story. so although it might not be out in July there reasons were crap.

Personnaly although im really looking forward to Heavy Rain i think November would be a better time to release it. Certain games are just better played on a winter evening, adds to the atmosphere. Also it would be a biggie for Sony at Christmas to go against Alan Wake and Mass Effect2 which will also probably be released around that time.

there really isnt much chance that gears will ever make its way to any other console apart from an xbox. even if epic did want to do it, im pretty sure microsoft will shell out as much as it takes to keep it exclusive and right now they NEED some exclusives.

I highly doubt that Gears 3 would go to the Ps3, Microsoft is not stupid to let their precious franchise go like that. I mean if they paid 50 mil for DLC for GTAIV imagine what they are ready to do for Gears of war. Plus what would happen to the 2 other installments? We skip the first 2 then move directly to the 3rd?

I hardly think the rumour is "killed" for Gears 3 on Ps3. Microsoft only had a contract for the first 2 games not a third, and I think Epic may consider going multiplatform.

Plus Microsoft isn't in the best financial position to go shelling out another $50 million (a rough guess) to keep a game on the 360, no matter how important it is.

Mass Effect DLC has been confirmed by many sources now, question is when do we get it.

However, if it did come to the PS3, that would would pretty much end the PS3/Xbox 360 argument. Free Xbox live for GTA content isn't good enough either. MS has had plenty of chances to supply their customers with quality gaming. Instead, they ripped them off with 3 so-called RROD preventing chips, Lag issues which any credible review pro would have pointed out...thus bringing down that "reach around" 9.5 score for a game that was EXACTLY the same as the 1st. And yea, Resistance 2 got a higher than deserved score also. AND Xbox 360 can have MGS 4 for Gears trade. Does anyone know how well MGS 2 sold on the 1st Xbox? (Didn't sell much....my point exactly.)

Bottom line, the PS3 exclusives, PSN, new IP's, and blu ray delivers what MS either refuese to provide or is unwilling to, for it's customers. (QUALITY MEANS OF ENTERTAINMENT, GREAT MULTI-MEDIA OPTIONS, AND GAMES.)

Considering Epic Games only had a contract w/ Microsoft to only do the first 2 Gears of War games on the 360. We could see Gears of War 3 making it's way to PS3.
Even if this did happen I'm pretty sure it will be a timed exclusive on the 360 then 6 months to a year later it will come to the PS3.
I mean Epic Games is a 3rd party dev so don't depend on him or any 3rd party dev to keep any game exclusive for long.

Heavy Rain in June sounds awesome can't wait to play it it just looks so damn interesting and innovative that I just have to play it.

Mass Effect DLC on 360 also sounds good for Xbox users.
-Might try out the first game on PC and then rent Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 when it comes out.
