"We're designing Wheelman to play like a Hollywood blockbuster," said Vin Diesel, Wheelman star and executive producer, Tigon Studios. "Playing this game will be just like taking control of the greatest car chases from feature films, except this time you're in the driver's seat."
It's no secret that games made after movies generally flop, however seeing Tigon's track record (Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay), this one looks like it could steal the show. The over-the-top action may just be what this tried and true genre needs to spice things up, and coming this February, we'll know for sure.
MenStuff: "OK, it’s hard to actually recommend many celebrity-endorsed games. They don’t exactly live up to the triple-A standard as some of the big blockbuster movies the actors star in, but there are a few that made for a fun adventure and deserve a shout-out."
OXM UK writes: "Madagascar Kartz. Up. Cars. Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs.
There are plenty of kids games on Xbox 360 where the challenge barely bothers to raise itself beyond pressing A to skip the tutorial text, as you dilly-dally through the game while achievements pop all around you."
Gamereactor sat down with Tigon Studios' head of game production Ian Stevens to talk about Riddick, the "burden" of Vin Diesel's image, and game development in general.
Nothing like a Vin Diesel game to release how much he has dropped off of the map.
Wasn't this game supposed to come out over a year ago?
What platforms is it going to be available for?
Oh, look, another hollywood blockbuster. I wonder if they'll keep it to the 2 hours of the actual movie?
Vin, where you been, man. You started off so well, and now....this.
