Some thoughts:

Prototype: Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God. How fantastic this game looks is just not quite in my range of conscious ability to word. The freerunning system is amazing; I've watched him run in a straight line, and actually avoid things moving into his path on a random course, from running down and then wallkicking off lorries, to entire skyscrapers. Admiteddly, it'll make gamers more wary of hoodie hooligans, but then again, if they were all like this we'd be wearing Burberry monk robes and worshipping Reebok.

Alan Wake: Finally. The amount of times this game has been delayed goes beyond farcial, and it's nice to see it finally reach a stage where they can date it. It'll be interesting to see the narrative directions taken by the team on a character with a bad case of insomnia, though I can't help feeling his surname is the best example of cruel irony I can recall in this industry. Hopefully a title that will fix all the failings of the recent Silent Hill and Alone in the Dark releases.

Brutal Legend: This game is going to be brilliant. A game where you play as a roadie, voiced by and modelled on Jack Black, in a land of cars and dragons? What's not to like? Some slick visuals and a nice cartoony style set this off well, and it'll be exciting to see Lemmy and other metal icons make their first in-game cameos. Not to mention it's helmed by Tim "r0xx0r my s0xx0rz" Shafer, creator of both my avatar, and Eddie's. Epic win.

Heavy Rain: As someone who doesn't see a PS3 in their near future, three things are killing me; LittleBigPlanet, MSG4, and this. The game is incredibly detailed, not only graphically but in the sheer amount of narrative-based outcomes to each and every scenario the female protagonist of the title will encounter. Hiding in a house from a violent man? Do you run, do you hide till he leaves, do you kill him? Any and every outcome is available to you, and I can't wait to see if they all tie into a player-controlled storyline.

The first I've heard of Trine. Looks pretty cool.

Indeed. All great games. I find it so hard to know which titles to look forward to nowadays, though.

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto20d ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger8820d ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

ChasterMies19d ago

Trevor in GTA 6 is a sadist and psychopath who dabbles in cannibalism. Should be top of the list. These game “news” sites should hire people that know games.

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

gigoran829d ago

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

Tacoboto28d ago

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia29d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie29d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

Profchaos29d ago

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie29d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh28d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.

Spec Ops: The Line was super dark.

Incredible story.

SheenuTheLegend82d ago

all the games in the above list are bang on. this is the only reason we need backwards compatibility and physical presense of games for the upcoming future, no matter what.

Yi-Long82d ago

Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.

melons82d ago

yes! incredible rain effects; so good to drive along in rain with your Spotify playlist blaring

Skuletor82d ago

I really wanted a MotorStorm using the same engine, Driveclub is easily one of the best looking games on PS4 and I'm surprised they didn't even give it a PS4 Pro patch.

ravens5282d ago

Yes indeed. May just install it on my PS5. You know, physical copy and all.

monkey60281d ago

I adored Driveclub and the Bike expansion. I also loved Motorstorm. Evolution shutting down was a crime

Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.

Skuletor82d ago

I have quite a few of these. Timed licenses suck.

Terry_B82d ago (Edited 82d ago )

wow...I have all of them except the Nintendo ones either in physical or digital version.

Also..Deadpool the Game is missing on that list.
