it's only 3.4k...But it will by PS5 games with similar quality.

Shiore2u42d ago (Edited 42d ago )

Perhaps if you ran your eyes through a wire brush. With a 4090, 14900KS and 64GB of ram you're not getting 30fps average with lacking anisotropic filtering, little to no ray tracing, and default non-native resolution. Comparing a top of the line pre-built to budget is just asinine.

jznrpg42d ago

Cost vs what you get PS5 is a great buy. Obviously it won’t compare to a 3-4,000$ PC when you are only paying 399-499$ but it plays games fairly well, loads fast and offers physical games. There is pros and cons to both obviously

anast42d ago

I would justify my 4k machine that can only rent games too, because if I don't I would look like a sucker.

--Onilink--42d ago

@anast

You already do more than enough to look like a sucker, no need to worry about it

Seriously, talking about “only renting games” in the current platform where it is without a doubt the easiest to actually do game preservation when publishers screw everyone in all other places….

Aphrodia42d ago

This deal is awesome. I would pick this up immediately if I didn't already have a beast computer. It's 3 years old but still awesome. If yall are looking for an elite machine at a good price get this while you can.

GoodGuy0942d ago

It's able to cut that much because it's already crazy expensive lol.

JackBNimble42d ago

You could probably build the same pc for half the price... just saying

jznrpg42d ago

For 3400$ you can get a ps5 and a 40+ games at full price.

Aphrodia42d ago

This PC will be more powerful and can do more things than the Playstation 8. Heck my 3 year old pc will be at least as strong as the ps 8 if not much more. I don't think PS 6 or 7 will be native 4k. Maybe the 8 will be native 2K 60fps, 4K 30fps if you're lucky. But it will be very difficult to do that and be widely affordable.

So if you got this pc you're set for the next 20 years if you're comparing to playstation.

anast42d ago

The PC you will get crap ports, only rent games, and fiddle with everything for hours just to get the game to work properly. It's seems like a lot money for something that has to have everything just right to work.

Mr Logic42d ago

This is satire right? You can take a $10,000 computer from 10 years ago and it will be MAGNITUDES worse than building a mid-range ~$1000 rig today.

andy8542d ago

Bit of an exaggeration 😂 sure the PS8, probably won't hit 4K with high frame rates, graphical fidelity will be up massively (although we've from 1080 on the 4 to 4K on a lot of games, at 30 of course in several years so in 20 it should) It was playing today's games of course it would. Going off the past, a PS5 in 2020 is about as powerful as the best PC from 2014. PS8 will release in like 2040, so no a PC today won't be more powerful than it 20 years later, especially as tech increases are slowing.

Aphrodia42d ago

@ Mr Logic

Take note that in my comment and in this thread we are comparing PC to Playstation, not PC to PC like you just did. Playstations are never " state of the art". They provide the best experience they can at a the most affordable price. And we're talking pre builts, not building. Also, the pc in this article is only 3400 in 2024. I personally have never seen a $10K gaming pc circa 2014.

ChasterMies41d ago

But I don’t need a PC to do more things when I can already do those things on my iPad. Save money. Game on PS5.

And then the ps5 pro comes out and you run to buy regardless that there isn't a single game to justify the pro but you already own an ogps5.

Sony is deceiving suckers like jznrpg to upgrade their console for absolutely no real reason.
Btw , there are only a handful of current gen games on ps5 worth owning. It's delusional to compare a ps5 with 40 games when most of those games would be last gen , to a high end pc.

So be stuck in your little bubble but a console can't do anything near what a pc can do.

anast42d ago

PC has to rely on the console space for games. Why would anyone spend that much to play a handful of RTS and CRPGs?

Mr Logic42d ago

"there are only a handful of current gen games on ps5 worth owning"

And there are even less of them on PC

andy8542d ago

I don't consider myself a sucker for getting a new console. I just want to play my games 'better'. Are people suckers for spending thousands on a new PC to play the same games.

ChasterMies41d ago

For $3400 you can buy a PS5, fly to Japan, and visit Sony headquarters.

Honestly, If I worked presently for Microsoft's gaming division, I would update my CV and look for work elsewhere...

Simon_the_sorcerer17h ago

I would do the same, because MS will most likely pull-off more stunts like this in the near future...

"Now"?

How about "ever"?

They closed so many of their dev teams during the second half of the Xbox 360 era. Have we forgotten history so quickly?

Dummy fake journalists acting so surprised over these recent closures, when this is something that's been going on for well over a decade now with MS.
