"Soccer may not be as big a hit in the U.S. as it is in other countries, but a global phenomenon it remains. EA Sports already has fans in a tizzy with its own soccer game, FIFA 09, but that didn't stop Gameloft from unleashing its Real Soccer 2009 on the Nintendo DS."
Icrontic's very own CB Droege brings this week's interesting new gaming releases, including Aliens vs. Predator, Deadly Premonition, Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce, and the spotlight release: "The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom".
CheatCC says, "I was a bit worried by the first few releases to hit DSiWare, but Real Soccer 2009 has proven to be a true boon to the service. If loads of premium, bargain titles like this continue to drop, the DSi could extend this generation of handhelds for another several years."
IGN writes: "Beyond the addition of camera functionality there are subtle changes to last year's DS game, but not enough to really notice unless you're truly a Real Soccer fanatic. At the very least it's a solid sports entry on a system with very few options, and 800 points ($8.00) is about right for what you get: a retail product converted to downloadable content that's usually $19.99 if you got the cartridge version".
