Spike TV's Video Game Awards still can't get it right.
It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
Amazon has announced its gaming lineup for May 2024 and it is one of the better months especially if you are an Amazon Prime subscriber.
I have Amazon Prime hardly ever use it and these games will not make me jump back to Prime.
Only use Prime for discounts on shipping.
Amazon
Games line-up looks Highly Promising.
Yeah if you Never played those games before.
or you just started gaming for the First time in your life it would seem "Promising "
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
Jack Black was a good choice...
I nearly fell asleep. GTA IV won GOTY, every "World Premiere" was only 15-20 seconds long and suffered from extremely poor quality, etc. Waste of time.
Come on guys this is spike tv. The award show was a joke they knew there was a buzz for trailers and game of the year so guess what lets put on crap! The most I watched is when I skipped channels so my children could watch Disney.
I do agree with the guy that wrote this article when he says that there should be actual game developers giving out awards instead of actors. During the Oscars it's mostly various actors presenting/ giving out awards to other Actors and the VGA's should be the same way.
It would have been way better if more game developers were actually involved in the show itself... instead of that woman introducing World Premires, I would have rather preferred that someone from the game studio itself was there on stage to introduce a World Premire, like Cory Barlog giving an intro to the God of War 3 trailer or Evan Wells giving the intro to the Uncharted 2 trailer.
However, I did like seeing Kim Kardashian, Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 trailers, but everything else to me was pretty meh. Jack Black was o.k., but overrall to me, Jack Black really isn't that funny and I thought that some of the presenters didn't seem to take it seriously.
I basically only watched the VGA's for the Uncharted 2 and GOW3 trailers and didn't care about anything else, after I saw the trailers I turned back to the Dallas Cowboys v.s. New York Giants game on NBC.
it was pathetic to say the least.
never again, spike... never again...
