Halo has yet to release to be fair. It may go down as one of the best pvp shooters and bring back halos reign in the genre. These should always be rewarded in January to make them fair. But my choice would have still been Playstation, so I'm not mad at that

Console as in the piece of hardware.

Platform as in the service/world of the games. Says ''Playstation wins best platform'' not PS5 wins best platform, which wouldn't make sense.

Having both of them, imo they are pretty much the same in terms of performance. Both having some games that run better on each console.
I think the deciding factor for me is
Gamepass (which I guess if you have a pc it doesn’t matter)
While PS5 have dual sense (also own preference) and more games right now.

Either way I just don’t see how one is better then the other right now overall.

I just feel sorry for anyone who isn't able to experience the ps5 only games like returnal and ratchet and clank. Those were really good. I especially enjoyed replaying demons souls with the duelsense and improved graphics too. I've always said the real next Gen features are the duelsense and no loading screens or almost no loading in some games.

Edit* and for those saying the ps5 can't support instant loading, ghost of Tsuchima fast travels in less than a second and so does demons souls. Both of those games are insanely detailed and gorgeous.

The gimmick is gamepass and BC. I find it funny that the console that touts backwards compatability finally gets a decent remaster in Alan wake that was a great game in the past on Xbox, and they barely buy it at all. Playstation decimated the sales. KOTOR might not even go to Xbox and their mad about that, but I thought all they needed was free BC and "free" games on gamepass? That's the gimmick. Try playing new games with new features. And when they release for you, buy them. Pretty soon no one is gonna want to port to Xbox for the low sales unless it's on gamepass.

That is probably the worst test I've ever seen. One is a 2070 paired with a notoriously bad CPU. with much lower pixel and texture filtration than the PS5's. The other is a RX 5600X with a lower memory bus and even lower remaining specs, using a game that runs significantly better on AMD architecture, close to the equivalent of a 2080 in raster performance. A 3070 has a 1% minimum frame drop of 76 out of a total of 83 with max settings at native 4K in Death Stranding. Meanwhile the PS5 minimum falls into near the mid 40s. Dy 1 ps5 owner here the highlight of the system is pretty much always going to be duelsense for most games forget resolution graphics etc it helps bring games alive.

Combine that with upcoming games and a new VR system and its awesome.

However I don't feel like it's offering a huge leap over my friends playing on PS4 still I've played some awesome games but the only real game I played in the last 12 months my friends couldn't was ratchet.

It's hands down my favourite system and offers improvements on pretty much all games on PS4 if just giving me a stable frame rate but I'm not going to exaggerate it's praises when Xbox is doing some great work that I'm a little jelous of like I wish I had the frame rate boost on BC games I'm not a huge fan of gamepass I've had it before for one X1 and PC and the library is underwhelming outside of bug realises so I'd rather PSN PS plus games just keep up the high quality they have been giving lately

I actually think they got it backwards, when I turn on my ps5 it’s so nice and next gen. it’s my console of the year.

But I turn on my series x more for the platform, ie gamepass. Platform of the year is xbox live/gamepass itself
