The Xbox no shows of E3 2021: the games that were MIA

Despite the dozens if not hundreds of games that were presented throughout E3, there were quite a few Xbox no shows. For all the exciting glimpses to be had at upcoming games, some prominent titles we were wondering about didn’t make it to the show. Here are some of the biggest games that would have been a welcome sight at E3, but took a rain check instead.

I am surprised no one is mentioning State of Decay 3

Skipped my notice entirely. Killing zombies is good work

Sciurus_vulgaris1060d ago

The version of Beyond Good and Evil 2 that Ubisoft presented was not what fans wanted or expected. Beyond Good and Evil 2 came off as another big, bloated, open would Ubisoft game. I won’t be surprised it Beyond Good and Evil 2 has been scrapped and restarted or canceled outright.

sourOG1060d ago

A taste of fable would have been the shit. I mean I get it, first impressions are everything and gamers judge harshly on pre-alpha footage but a glimpse for the rest of us that aren’t mentally challenged would have been fantastic. It would have been worth taking the days off.

Zeref1060d ago

I would have liked a Hellblade 2 style behind the scenes video.

Lionhead actually used to do some kind of behind the scenes series before every Fable game.

sourOG1060d ago

Yeah I really like dev blogs. It’s like media interviews without the dumb questions.

it's Xbox.....you were really expecting games besides Fable,Gears,Forza and Halo at an E3? Xbox has no games, they haven't since the 360; that's why they have gamepass, to supplement the fact they have zero exclusives or new IPs

That's not a troll. That's...Lucian!

Your pathetic outdated attempt at trolling even missed the point of the article. A fail comment if I ever saw one.

Five Big Games Still Lingering Somewhere in Development Hell

This year promises to be a big year for gaming, and it will definitely be one of the greatest if any of these big MIA projects finally made it into gamers' hands.

Pretty sure Silk Song and Dragon Age are going smoothly. The other 2 can be assumed to be quietly cancelled knowing their publishers and Metroid will most likely be shown off this year.

Michiel1989121d ago

Dragon Age going smoothly??? Directors leaving, people leaving in general, terrible working conditions....not sure how you define smoothly.

VincentVanBro23d ago

lol Dragon Age development has been anything but smooth

I remember in 2017 when Nintendo showed off the Metroid Prime 4 logo, and some Nintendo defenders claimed "Just because they only showed a logo, doesn't mean that's all they've worked on for the game."

As history has proven, they were wrong. Nintendo showed off a logo back in 2017 because that's literally all they had.

-Foxtrot122d ago

I think Beyond Good and Evil 2 can stay there unless they are going to just rename it to a new IP

DOMination-121d ago

Pretty sure BG&E2 is dead at this point - along with the other game Ancel was working on before he left - I think it was called WILD. Anyone remember that from a PS conference years ago?

Dreadwolf isn't in development hell anymore and is finally getting its reveal in the summer - since 2016 the game has been scrapped and restarted three times but its been going pretty well since the last reboot when EA finally allowed BioWare to just get on with making a single player game.

I'm not sure Perfect Dark is in development hell either - like it could be but we haven't really heard much to suggest either way - imo they just showed the trailer off when the game was still in pre-production. Xbox were desperate for anything and this is all they had at the time. And the reason we haven't heard anything since is just because it's in normal development and games take 5 years to make. The help from a support studio was typically overblown on N4G because nearly every game has this.

I bought Scarlet Nexus physically a week ago for that price. A very fun and addicting game imo.

Demetrius133d ago

Bern wondering bou getting that too

1nsomniac133d ago

I’ve noticed a distinct lack in any reduction to PS+ subs this holiday season. Sony trying to force customers hands into paying the fully inflated price.

This is the longest I’ve ever been a non PS+ subscriber since it began. I won’t be the only one. Protest with your wallet or they will keep shafting the consumer!

Snookies12133d ago (Edited 133d ago )

They literally just had a reduced price on their official site. It was a 30% discount on all tiers for a year. I paid like $50 for a year of the basic.

shinoff2183132d ago (Edited 132d ago )

Idk man there was a few months recently they knocked it out the park. Like the month we got all those jrpgs. Star oceans, etc. That was a great month.

andy85132d ago

This isn't true. They had one in December for a week and also Black Friday in November. There will most likely be the usual January one as well.

1nsomniac132d ago (Edited 132d ago )

Last one they had was Black Friday. They didn’t have any in December. The first year they haven’t had one in December.

1nsomniac131d ago

Seems to be US by the looks of it, can’t see any mention of it in UK and certainly don’t remember seeing anything advertised on the store about it.

shadowknight203133d ago (Edited 133d ago )

Its not really mind blowing deals, more like a bait n switch for clicks news article.

Between this and n4g never working anymore, i question why I even bother some days.

Shiro173132d ago

I thought this site was not working for me only. Good to know

Good month imo. I'll play Gotham Knights and House of Ashes. I'm finishing up Disco E on Steam right now - that's a superb game.

House of Ashes was weird but one of the good weird ones! Really enjoyed it
