Yes, this game definitely looks better in motion when you can see all the beautiful lighting and post-processing effects at work. The screenshots still look awesome though.

I agree. Very glad to own a PS3 indeed. Guerrilla are so talented and they pulled off what many people thought was impossible: virtually matching the quality of that original CG trailer. All I can say is kudos to the developers and...February needs to get here ASAP!

You know what....looking at those images, there is no way I can believe my eyes until I play this game. It looks so good...beyond anything I've ever seen before. This really gives Crysis a run for its money. Seriously.

In the twelve videos from earlier, the flamethrower effects are the only ones I'd like to see improvement on... right now they blow, but the weapon itself looks freaking incredible as does every other part of the game... I guess that's why those fire effects seem "lesser" because they have to stand up to all the other visually spectacular elements.

I bet GG has individual sub-teams for different aspects of the visuals and it must be difficult to have to get one team get their aspect (fire effects) to match up with say, overall lighting or the blurring or whatever... right now, the fire is lacking and that's all!

i'm in the MP beta, and i wasn't expecting the single player to look much better than the MP, but they really upped the particle count, and post-processing effects in single player.

it really does look like CG.

while i'm expecting reviewers to nitpick the title and selectively point out flaws in KZ2 that exist in other games in the genre that they've kindly overlooked, it has no bearing on me, nor my enjoyment of the game.

i had such a blast with the MP, i'd buy it for that ALONE.

since the single player in the original Killzone was good (despite technical flaws holding it back), and the campaign in KZ: Liberation was also good, i'm expecting the campaign in Killzone 2 to be on par with those.

I have been watching my friend play the beta (and playing a little as well) and I thought it looked amazing, but you are right, the single player videos that we have just seen reveal that the campaign mode looks even better. Seriously, jaw-droppingly good!

This game has probably the most advanced lighting engine that I have ever seen in a game. And every single technique and artistic design choice all adds up to a game that comes closer to achieving the look of a CG movie than any I have seen before.

Killzone Liberation was indeed a very good game and is one of my favorite PSP games. And in my opinion even the original Killzone was good, it just had a few technical issues and didn't quite live up to the hype. So, unfortunately many wrote it off as a crappy game, when in fact it was really quite fun and impressive.

When I think back to what Guerrilla achieved with that first game, it really doesn't surprise me how fantastic Killzone 2 looks. You could tell they had amazing technical know-how when you saw the performance they were able to get out of the PS2 for the original Killzone.

For any of you that have forgot, go check out a video of the original Killzone, and you will see what I mean. Guerrilla were able to get nearly unmatched performance out of the PS2, to the point that it was almost hard to believe that Killzone was a PS2 game. It looked fantastic. The only problem was that their vision was just a little too grand for the PS2 and the game suffered a few technical issues because of it. However, Killzone 2 suffers none of those limitations based on what I have seen.
