Who cares at this point? That game is dead now. Even all the big streamers like Killer 6 and Joltzdude among many others left and went back to streaming BL2.

Harkins17211579d ago

Because if they didn't people would say they abandoned the game. Jeez you're not very bright are you?

JokerBoy4221579d ago

Everyone else abandoned it. I did. I was tired of weeks of grinding just so they could nerf all my progress...

rainslacker1579d ago

I just started playing it in earnest last week, so I care. I don't play the MP though. I put it off because of the text font on loot cards and quest text being too small. I don't think they officially fixed it, but I got newer contacts recently, so I can make it out alright, although I don't care for the look of the loot cards compared to the BL2. One of those, if it ain't broke, don't fit it.

I think a lot of the co-op players abandoned it though, or at least grew uninterested with it. BL2 was pretty on point in every way, and I broke the game early by opening the gold key loot box without knowing what it is, and getting a rifle that can rip through practically everything, and a severely over-spec'd shield. Story is not as fun as BL2 so far, but does have some good humor.

JokerBoy4221579d ago

Yeah I agree with you. My issue with Borderlands 3 is that instead of them just making Borderlands 2 2.0 which is what everyone wanted 3 to be, they made The Pre-Sequel 2.0. It feels just like that game to me and I've actually heard alot of big names in the community kinda say the same. It's not a bad game, it's just not anywhere close to what it should have been. The constant meddling with nerfs is the icing on the shit cake too.

So far, I actually liked TPS better than BL3. I think for the games themselves(outside TFTBL which got me into the series in the first place), TPS was the best in delivering it's story. You weren't just some random vault hunter who was the only one inexplicably that could save Pandora and stop Handsome Jack because you happen to survive his attack. You were actually part of the story leading up to the events in BL2. You had purpose for being there, and it was made clear, and you weren't just doing what others told you, although you were in a game play sense. You aligned yourself with Jack, and they developed his character in a way that believeable that he could become what he ended up being in BL2.

Game play wise, I think it was a bit too liberal with the weightless environments, and the gun play, while solid in what they were attempting, didn't feel as natural as BL2. Some bosses were next to impossible without cheesing on TVHM depending on one's character so they lost a lot of the balance, and like BL3, if you got golden key loot early, it broke the game. There was some of that in BL2, but there were still situations where golden key loot wouldn't always work. Now I'm tearing through everything, and even dying, it's pretty easy to get second winds. Not that I mind sometimes, because damn if they don't sent a ton of stuff at you at a time in BL3, like 3-4 heavies and droves of shielded enemies, but it's starting to get a bit predictable.

Anyhow. I don't hate BL3, but I doubt it'll end up being my most played game of 2020. Last year, BL2(along with TPS in the HJC) was my most played game according to that stats thing Sony does. 240 odd hours, and I still have some DLC I want to play from it. I just got to a point where I needed to play another game.:)

JokerBoy4221579d ago

@rainslacker I completely agree with you. TPS definitely had a better handle on storytelling. I've heard a few streamer's takes on the state of the game and so far what they noticed, as did I, is that it seems that Gearbox doesnt really know why anyone even likes Borderlands. It almost feels like they got extremely lucky with BL2 and somehow accidentally made one of the best games ever. How a development team goes from making a massive hit like BL2 and then makes this mush called BL3 is mind boggling.

rainslacker1578d ago

LOL. Sometimes the strangest things manage to be big hits. I think they tried to improve on what they did with BL2 in TPS, and then again on BL3, but maybe just tried too hard. Small improvements were all that was needed, but instead they tried to make the game just more of something that is everywhere else. Then added some jumping puzzles.

Tetsujin1579d ago

Why is there a Royal Rumble pic for Borderlands 3?

SyntheticForm1579d ago

Man, that's old school too.

Back when I liked wrestling.

Bismarn1579d ago

I don't know that Big Daddy Diesel can save the game, but adding Brett Hart should help

TheHateTheyGive1579d ago

Excellent thumb nail! Bart hart and big daddy cool!

Though far from the best version, this does a mostly good job of bringing this snarky sci fi shooter to the Switch.

borderline unplayable lmao

InUrFoxHole264d ago

Really like the series but each one seems more of the same to me. Needs a mix up. Tiny Tina was ok at 1st but overall meh.

gold_drake264d ago

you can only make a 1st person looter shooter so much different.

fans dont play it for the ganeplay but more for the story i would assume.

i know i did. and cause i liked the characters

InUrFoxHole264d ago

Idk but they're solid overall

FalcorMononoke265d ago

The first 3 games were great on the Switch so I'm sure this one will be good.

Profchaos265d ago

Hate to say it but this was a bad game I don't see the merit in porting it unlike the first 2
