Well this is a tad melodramatic.

mikeslemonade1632d ago

Why do you want to play dmc3 on switch anyway.

wheresmymonkey1632d ago

And completely redundant. Capcom have already said the collection is coming out on a cart next year (granted two and three are download codes.

The only problem is pricing, but that's true of all publishers putting games on new platforms. Look at Stadia. they expect you to pay £50 for a selection of ports you can get on pretty much every other platform for half the price.

RosweeSon1632d ago

Yeah all publishers try premium prices on newer systems. Square Enix still charging £15+ for old final fantasy’s on iOS

Segata1632d ago

They could not bother to put 3 PS2 games on the card is lazy. DQXI put extra content and fit it onto a card. Witcher 3 entire game and DLC are there. Capcom has been lazy on Switch. Mega Man collection had 8GB download. If they could fit the HD collection on a 360 disc (which was DVD9) then they can put it on a Switch card. Capcom has been lazy and overcharging on Switch ports.

RosweeSon1632d ago

Sciurus_vulgaris1632d ago

Switch ports tend to always have a high price. Even the first-party Wii U ports such as Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze were sold at $60.

King_Noctis1632d ago

And that was outrageous. I don’t care how good the game is, $60 for a side scroller is just atrocious.

wheresmymonkey1632d ago

Why? It doesn't take any less hard work and effort to make a side scroller than it does any other type of game and Tropical Freeze is a bloody big game too.

bloop1632d ago (Edited 1632d ago )

"It doesn't take any less hard work and effort......"

You reckon they put in the same effort and hard work as the likes of R* put in to something like RDR2?

Nah.

Teflon021632d ago

wheresmymonkey
Lol, they definitely but in less of a effort to make a sidescroller. I LOVE Platformers, whether 2D sidescroller or 3D. BUT I can for a fact tell you a sidescroller of any kind is definitely less of an effort.

Razmiran1632d ago (Edited 1632d ago )

At least Tropical Freeze is a fun game while RDR2 is a boring slog of a game

Nyxus1632d ago

Some of those Wii U ports were actually more expensive on Switch than they were when they launched on Wii U.

septemberindecember1632d ago

I think just one was (Tropical Freeze). I can't think of any others that were

Concertoine1632d ago

DK was, it cost 49.99 at launch in 2014 and then re-released for 60 lmao. The funny thing is if it was 30 or even 40 i would consider a double dip just to support the franchise.

The only time Nintendo offers any real value is when theyre doing poorly financially (wii u years saw some good deals such as MK8 coming with a free first party game of your choice) or at the end of the generation.

RosweeSon1632d ago (Edited 1632d ago )

Wii U games RRP Was lower. Not to mention no one apart from the hardcore Nintendo fans played them so they are essentially a new game if you’ve already played them don’t buy them again. If you haven’t like most Nintendo games wether they came out this year or 25 years ago they are still as playable today as the day they were released. Mario kart I paid £36 day1 from amazon for my switch version sure I had a £10 voucher but shop around. NSMBD was barely £35/40. Sure if you go to the official Nintendo store or even worse GAME you’ll be paying £49.99.
Mario kart defo got enough replayability for its price.
One Mario kart sure over 2 generations 4-5. Fifa meanwhile released 5 games all pretty much the same and at a minimum of £39.99 some editions are over £80 per year but £40/$60 is too much for a quality game that can be played for years and years unlike last years FIFA which is outdated within 12 months if not sooner.
Each to their own but I’ll pay £40 for a quality game any day of the week. Specially one I’ll be playing years down the line and if I ever decided to sell ain’t gonna be worth £1 like last years fifa etc. They hold their prices as well 😱🤷🏻‍♂️ 🤓✌🏻

To say Nintendo never offer value (concertoine) is absolute 🐎 💩 people are still doing speed runs on ocarina of time Mario1 off the NES so they charged £40 and 30 years later people still playing them... seems like pretty good value to me.

Elda1632d ago

$20 for one old DMC game is absurd when one can purchase the DMC collection with all 3 DMC games for current gen platforms for the same price of $20 or less.

Italiano12345671632d ago

Got the whole collection for 10 bucks lol

PlayableGamez-1632d ago

You can say that about most releases on Switch.
The Witcher 3 is $60 while it's $20 PS4/XB1/PC

Not damage controlling for these high prices, but most games (besides indies) tend to be hire on Switch. Doom 2016 is still $60.

Traecy1632d ago

Those prices are ridiculous.

RosweeSon1632d ago

Yeah and that is all down to the publishers Nintendo don’t control the prices for Witcher 3 or doom as I know you know try telling some people that tho 🤦🏻‍♂️🥴 😜 Capcom another one.

Baza1632d ago

Capcom is going to destroy you

Microsoft's quest for short-term $$$ is doing long-term damage to Windows, Surface, Xbox, and beyond

Microsoft is pushing for no "red line" for what games could come to PlayStation, and it all revolves around Satya Nadella and CFO Amy Hood's plans to increase every department's margins.

"The plan to move Xbox games to other platforms is codenamed "Latitude" internally, and I know there's debate and unease at Microsoft about whether or not this is a good idea. More upcoming Microsoft-owned games slated for PlayStation are already being developed. At least for now, they're potentially obvious games you'd most likely expect. And yes, while it's true Microsoft is a prolific publisher on PlayStation already, it has typically revolved around specific franchises like Minecraft. From what I've heard, Microsoft is pushing for no "red line" for what games could come to PlayStation, and it all revolves around Satya Nadella and CFO Amy Hood's mandate to increase every department's margins. "

Yeah, they are going to kill Xbox hardware.

Xeofate20h ago

"Yeah, they are going to kill Xbox hardware."

It's for the best.

Quit stringing along xbox fans and screwing over PlayStation owners.

crazyCoconuts16h ago

Take good care of those Xboxes if you have 'em ...

outsider162415h ago

An Xbox game on a Playstation. Never in my years of gaming did i ever thought this was gonna happen.

jznrpg11h ago

It is dying anyway so doesn’t make much of a difference

VersusDMC11h ago

No way can they get rid of the hardware as probably 90% of game pass subscribers are hardware users.

Highly doubtful those users will move to PC or Cloud to subscribe there and the competition (Sony and Nin) will never have gamepass on their system.

If they want to keep the current subscribers, they need to keep releasing new hardware.

PSPSA2h ago

I'm not convinced, why then announce that they're actually working on the next-generation Xbox with “the largest technical leap”, and also looking into handhelds now?

Rols1h ago

Not like MS don’t drop things a hot potato if it is not performing. Look at MS history to see products or platforms discontinued. Xbox is not a charity for MS, it needs to make money and the ABK was the last roll of the dice for Xbox.

purple10120m ago

Xbox hardware team members have been incorporated into surface team

This perhaps shows they are not expecting big things from Xbox as a separate entity

i think it will kill off the xbox brand. windows will be fine.

but there is and would be a chance that xbox might be killed off in the future. if they fail to make the money they put in. imo.

S2Killinit19h ago

They wont kill it, but they will go fully PC while keeping xbox as a brand, and go multiplatform for the most part. They will also work tirelessly to diminish console gaming’s importance.

PRIMORDUS16h ago

It would be best if Xbox goes the way of Sega, just make and publish games. I know I myself will not support them at all with buying games from them, you all can. 🙃

ChasterMies15h ago

The Xbox brand will live for the games. I don’t expect Microsoft to entirely drop out of gaming hardware. They make Surface tablets and laptops. They’ll make Xbox branded hardware for those that want it.

shadowT21h ago

"Microsoft is pushing for no "red line" for what games could come to PlayStation"

Forza and Starfield next?

Skuletor20h ago

Starfield would be no surprise and there's the rumor that it will come to Playstation after the Shattered Space DLC, Forza (along with Halo and Gears of War) I find less likely but I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually end up on PlayStation too, especially if Xbox give up on hardware and go the Sega route.

shinoff218320h ago

Not to worried about forza. I'd rather see others like what inxile and obsidian are working on. Starfield sounds like it needs more time in the oven so let it cook first imo. If starfield and it's a small if does release on ps it'll be in the fall around the time for dlc or right at the dlc and come packaged with it.

-Foxtrot20h ago

In the words of Phil Spencer when he was talking about Nintendo last year

“It's just taking a long time for Microsoft to see that their future exists off of their own hardware"

S2Killinit19h ago

Yup. MS are a cancer to console gaming.

Aloymetal19h ago

100%!!
I wonder what happened to that dude that was always here posting those court articles with cartoons about MS spending all those billions in studios. He suddenly disappeared, I guess he doesn't like bad news when the green brand is in trouble. No new articles from him as of late...

PRIMORDUS16h ago

Yup, and it's only going to keep spreading.

Outside_ofthe_Box16h ago

Phil Spencer's words always comes back to bite him lol

It might be cheaper to simply pay the fine. Fighting said fine could cost millions due to court and lawyer fees. Fortnite generates well over a 100 million in each month, so Epic has plenty of cash.

franwex1d 5h ago (Edited 1d 5h ago )

But if they did pay it, then they are basically admitting that they did something they weren’t supposed to be doing. If they fight it, they may win and continue to have a sense of urgency for their micro transactions thus making more money long term.

Goodguy0122h ago(Edited 22h ago)

Meaning more suits to follow from others if they don't fight as well.

Not a fan of Epic nor fortnite and their micro transactions. But the game is heavily supported and is free to play, all store items are completely cosmetic.

1d 4h ago
Furesis1d ago

I'd fight back too. These are kinda meaningless reasons to fine someone like really for THAT. It's like they just wanted to make money or something.

Sephiroushin15h ago

There is a law for something, but even if its stupid follow it because if you break it you pay for it; if they knew they cant place a “buy now” in NL then just dont do it!

Yeaaa... no. It's cool to say that you got it running as a bragging right, but this is completely unusable. I like how he hits the screen while trying to type! X'D

Vits23h ago

I mean it always start like this. Ubuntu was the same, started with just being able to load the GUI, now people can play classic PC titles like Fable and Warcraft 3 as well as emulate GC, Wii, 3DS and PS2 on their Switch. With Windows things are definitely harder because Windows on Arm is pretty garbo, but who knows in a couple of years.
