oh agreed, I was only poking at the article saying that the game is running at a constant 60fps when you can clearly see instances where it drops down to 30. It's all over the place to be honest. But it will get there with time.

Yeah definitely. Also, the frame rate isn't 60fps, it's just the entire game is completely sped up, it's not quite the same. It's basically just playing at 2x speed or something.

I tried it out on a 9700K + 2080 Ti and the performance wasn't that great. It's gotten better over time and I'm sure it'll continue to get better as time passes but it's not enjoyable just yet. It stutters quite a bit. Exciting to see what the future holds for Yuzu emulator.

You literally don't know what emulation means. You're not emulating if you're actually committing the act of theft. If this is your best attempt at attacking software emulation then that's laughable. Theft is downloading a pirated game, but playing it is irrelevant to the act. Someone can emulate the game without stealing it, and someone can steal the game without emulating it. If you can't separate the the two acts you're as dumb as @Sgt_Slaughter.

Is it piracy when I own the game? I would love to play Breath of the Wild on Emulator so I can disable weapon braking honestly. I Own the game and MO and if I can play them at higher res and disable the one trash mechanic that completely ruins BotW for me. I'll gladly do it lol. Emulation has always been legal.

Emulation is totally legal, I understand that, but the way in which someone obtains ROMs/ISOs is usually 100% illegal and not "as a backup"

Speaking of piracy, look what happened to the DS and especially the PSP. Hardware sales went up but software sales and potential games on them were affected.

Exactly! Totally agree. I emulate because I can do things the console can't, like super smash bros melee in 4k. Did you know you can play SSB - Melee online with multiplayer, show me a gamecube that can do that?

It hitches and stutters a lot due to shader compilation (and no optimisation thereof). So not exactly a pain free experience. But a nice leap forward. Yuzu is really ploughing ahead, it's rare to see that kind of progress in such a short time.

But if you're looking to play this game, the switch is still the best way for now.

It's funny, because as history shows, when it is easy to do you can bet it will be done rampantly. Just look at the Dreamcast. It was comically easy to pirate games and so people did in fact do it in droves. To the point it arguably killed it.

I still laugh when some of those same people have stated in the past they've purchased games used from Gamestop, LetGo, and Ebay. Developers and publishers never see that money. How is that any different by their logic if not worse since they're also keeping companies like Gamestop and their garbage practices afloat?

There's multiple developers on record stating they prefer the idea of piracy over used game sales, simply for the fact at least it's not someone else profiting of their work.
I mean, sure, there's some merit to the fact that, for a used copy to exist, there needed to be an initial sale. At the same time, how many times as that copy exchanged hands? We also know how shady places like Gamestop has been in pushing only used games. What about rental services where, realistically, that one copy will reach 1000 separate hands, or more.

I guess it's fine not supporting a developer/publisher, as long as you're still paying money to someone. Somehow that makes it any more ethical. As for me, I'd rather do the same amount of damage while also not paying to do it. With that said, outside of emulating games up to as new as the PS2 era, I have never so much as pirated a single game. Hell, I've never even pirated music.

This is where emulation loses me. If you can buy the game on a digital storefront or at retail for brand new, I think that's too new for emulation to be necessary. If it's readily available at retail of any kind, I think that's just wrong.

What I saw was variable FPS with a high of around 152 and a low of 30. I get that they wanted to show off how high it could get, but since the engine seems to be tied to the framerate they really should have put a frame limiter on there to keep it at 60FPS.

And this is one of the downsides of using weaker hardware and an ARM architecture. Compile some code for ARM and look at it in a debugger, it's so much easier to reverse than x64 assembly. We're going to see many commercial games from a current ten system run at full speed on PC in a not so distant future. Anyone who's writing any kind of emulator is doing God's work.

The emulator runs like crap if you don't have a crazy overclocked CPU , too demanding it needs a new method from devs that loads things / shaders faster instead of waiting 5 min to stabilize it , i don't like how this emulator performs compared to others emulators tbh

Not sure if it answers your question but I tried out Super Mario Odyssey with a 9700K @ 5GHZ + 2080 Ti + 32 GB RAM and it was still not quite enjoyable/consistent without stutters. It's still amazing to even have these games running though. Not even a few months ago was performance substantially worse. Yuzu is developing quite quickly.
