Just took the survey. A bit longer than I thought. But some Persona ports are always welcomed

lelo2play1918d ago

Yep... saw the first page (represents 5% of the survey) ... and gave up.

AnthonyDavis1918d ago

I said I want PC Ports but no Switch or Xbox ports. More gamers get to play being better is a myth. That means more casual gamers get to play and it ruins how developers make their games to target the casual audience. And more time wasted spent porting.

1918d ago
XabiDaChosenOne1918d ago

@JimmyCagney your interpretation of that comment is the definition of brain dead and stupid.

NapalmSanctuary1918d ago

@AnthonyDavis Giving casuals a chance to appreciate games with more depth is never a bad thing. It could make the industry, as a whole, much better. How else are they supposed to come to the understanding that over prioritizing things like accessibility tends to ruin games. I also don't understand the idea that Switch and Xbone gamers are, by definition, casual.

AnthonyDavis1918d ago

^Jimmy

Has already happened. Why you think mobile, iPad, gyro motion games have taken off. There’s more demand for simple and shallow games.

Less demand for well thought out and paced core games now.

AnthonyDavis1918d ago (Edited 1918d ago )

Napalm^

It’s not the consoles themselves. The principle of multiplatform is a concept for letting more gamers access it which is not a good thing.

Also let me ask you guys this question? Which industry has benefiffited from the casual audience? And by benefit I mean which industry got better critically apart from money.

Casuals help you earn money but they make industries shallow. Music, Movies, games, books, sports. I can make a case for all those where the casual audience ruined the industry.

Weeblordbad1918d ago

@AnthonyDavis

Who decides, who or what a casual is? All of your examples reek of simple gatekeeping and have no real basis in reality. So let's look at your comment history here, and ohhhh you've got an axe to grind. So surprising!

AnthonyDavis1917d ago

^
Lol you moving goal posts. You know what I mean by who is a casual gamer. If you don’t know, then your a casual gamer as well.

There is proof. Sports they encourage more scoring and making the players more safe to appease the casuals.

Movies, it’s more about superhero movies than drama movies now.

Music, the only good genre right now is is hip hop and pop.

Books, do people even read anymore
?

Games, the shift to mobile games and less big budget AAA complex games.

Atlus please, a collection with Persona 1 to 4 on a single disc would be awesome. Please, make it happen

mezati991918d ago

limiting your fanbase to one console is so SO dumb....

i hope all atlus games comes to ALL platforms

jukins1918d ago

Lol well when most of the fan base arent interested in it why waste the resources

mezati991918d ago

PC and Switch ARE thirsty for some of dem JRPGs bruh

jaymacx1918d ago

The only fan base that isn't really interested in JRPG is Xbox (Even though I bought mostly all of Xbox's JRPG games like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey). Plenty of Nintendo and PC fans love them.

HighPlayer281918d ago

Couldn't agree more with this post it's a no brainer really shouldn't even be asked. If you want to grow your niche games into a popular franchises then limiting your games to one platform is beyond stupid looking at you Sega.

hulk_bash19871918d ago

The more people that can get their hands on games like Persona 5 is a good thing. I played it on day 1 on PS4 and it is easily one of my favorite JRPGs of all time.

The Wood1918d ago

Truly great experience. Wish it won game of the year. . . .twice lol

rpvenom1918d ago

One of the few games of this generation that made me constantly anticipate and rush home from work to play with every minute of my spare time! A true gem for this generation!

HighPlayer281918d ago

What is this game about? Is it like Tokyo Ghoul

HighPlayer281918d ago

I always thought this game looked interesting and wanted to play it but it never came to Xbox. I hope it does so I can find out what this anime is about.

rpvenom1918d ago

I've never played tokyo ghoul so I can't compare.. what I will say is that it's a classic and modern return to jrpg.. turn based gameplay is not popular anymore but they made it worked and the story is amazing.. you really feel immersed and connected with the characters because all of them were very well made.. the story starts a bit slow but once you're in.. you'll never want to leave.. I hope you guys get to play it man.. it really is a game I will never forget..

DerekTweed1918d ago

I tried it after I got a PS4 pro, one of the best games I've played this gen. It is very long, around 100 hours to finish. It's based in Tokyo, you go to school, do certain activities to increase skills. "hang out" with friends to increase your bond.

You collect, basically, monsters that you can use during the turn based combat. They have different elemental abilities that are weak/strong against different monsters. You can fuse the monsters to make other monsters and find "recipes" for creating more powerful ones.

There is a lot of text based dialogue so you'll have to read a lot or skip it and not understand what's happening.

This is still skipping some of the other mechanics but this is the biggest stuff. Of course there is a story and dialogue choices that affect the ending.

All in all, it's a fantastic game. 10/10 for me

...not yet but 100% within the next 10 years!

..Then Sony will use it like the drop of a hat. They're no different to the others.

isarai18h ago(Edited 18h ago)

They used to be 😞 sure it was always a business, and money's always the priority, but they used to have a very strong stance on supporting artists and creativity. "Dont f#@k with the artist" was a phrase they touted a few times back in the ps1-ps3 era, a philosophy carried over from their music branch PlayStation was created from. It's not COMPLETELY gone, but it's barely there compared to what it was back then, i just want them to return to that.

isarai10h ago

Ugh, i really wish people would stop gambling people's livelihoods by turning a project/game into their political soapbox. Im all for statements and having your own opinion, but there's more people working on this than just druckman, ham fisting your political beliefs onto just seems inconsiderate for everyone elses job security when it can result in a failure due to people avoiding it for that reason.

I play games for escape, im so tired of nearly every AAA game blatantly dragging real world issues to shove in my face when I'm trying to take a break from it all. They don't even bother to be subtle about it, quite the opposite, it's blasted and force fed to you and it's just getting exhausting

Einhander19721h ago

People are taking a whole interview and cutting it down to clips that make him look bad and take what he actually was saying out of context. For example he also said things like this AI has "ethical issues we need to address"

-Foxtrot33m ago

@Einhander

Why defend him at this point?

It’s not taking things out of context, he said what he said.

Old ND would never talk about soulless AI taking over so many creative things they are well known for. The whole “ethical issues” is just a good PR spin people who push this crap fall back on to make their statements not seem as bad. So many AI lovers do this.

AI has no place is so many creative based things.

Einhander19721h ago

Well yeah, because everyone else is using it so they need to stay competitive. It's the same as paid online, they didn't want to go that route but their competition was making so much money they needed to add paid online just to keep up.

I’m more interested in what else he said.

“Neil Druckmann says new Naughty Dog title could ‘redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming’

Zezdh8h ago

Yay, more trans lgbtq characters and awful story lines

H95h ago

It will be something like "we erased gameplay all together it's just a movie now"

purple1014h ago

every time naughty dog make a game, you play it and get the feeling "this is not possible'

from the boulder running towards you in crash, on ps1,
to the massive open world of jak and daxter, on ps2,
to the QuickTime events sequences of uncharted on ps3/4

and now we will see what they do with ps5,

H93h ago

Press X for doubt at "PS5"

-Foxtrot1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Arrogant asshole who sniffs his own farts bigs up next game…sounds like typical PR to me

You know what I find interesting? Almost every site reporting this as the main title where the REAL interesting bit of the interview is Neil praising AI and saying it will be used to help push story, characters, dialogue and more.

It’s super shitty to big up AI especially when it comes to story telling and other creative elements.

senorfartcushion52m ago

Just because someone says this type of stuff, it doesn't mean that it's guaranteed to be good news.

You can say this about microtransactions. MXTs revolutionised the gaming industry.

Geez how full of themselves are these guys.

Einhander19721h ago

He also said it has "ethical issues we need to address" but of course that doesn't get the clicks.

CrimsonWing691h ago

I’m all for it. Cuts the time to make a game. Look, Hellblade 2 took 5 years to make, if AI can do that in half the time, as a consumer, I support it.

When you start the game Neil will appear personally telling you about real world issues and call you all sort of names if you don't take action now and then you watch a whole movie and that's it

Crows903h ago(Edited 3h ago)

Too much credit.

A good dev doesn't need to announce how good his game is...he just shows it.

You don't see Kojima glorifying his ideas like this and you don't see successful developers glorifying their "great" ideas before release.

It's going to be a shit show...reserve some popcorn.

Its a hard pill to swallow but the naughty dog we once had is long gone. Most don't realize it but eventually just like with bioware and blizzard...it'll be hard to ignore.

H93h ago

Neil just wants to be Kojima so bad, meanwhile Kojima is just like a child enjoying the world, saying whatever comes to his mind and having so much passion, man I don't even like his games that much but the man is just passion incarnate!

And the popcorn is always ready for Neil

notachance3h ago

Ever since Bruce Straley left it was like Neil lost his leash and went on full ego trip, not unlike Kojima tbh but at least with Kojima you can see how much he loved video games and how he truly want to push the boundaries. Neil felt like he’s just strutting around..

StoneTitan2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

Erm dude. Never played a kojima game before? He can absolutely come across pretentious to some people. He puts his name in the credits of every Mission you do in mgs5.
I mean...
Also naughty dog absolutely has the power to bring in people from a very different demographic unlike other gamecompanies. TLOU and Uncharted were absoolutely groundbreaking for gaming.
Also Druckman never said it "will" he said it "could"
Sounds actually very optimistic but also cautious to me.
Stop hating move on

1Victor1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

@crow: “You don't see Kojima glorifying his ideas like this”
You mean like this👇👇
https://www.gamedeveloper.c...
ALL DEV HYPE THEIR NEXT GAME IDEAS so I call BS on your statement

Cacabunga1h ago

I dislike the character, but i really hope this is a single player game..

ElaBosak48m ago(Edited 47m ago)

Lmao please tell me this is sarcasm? Kojima is the epitome of a dev glorifying his ideas even worse than this.

CobraKai45m ago

Id like them to show something. Only doing 2 TLOU remakes this far into the PS5 life is disappointing.

I am slightly more curious regarding Cory Barlog's next project

S2Killinit33m ago

I just want to play ND game, I dont really care about neither sides politics.

solideagle2h ago

please shut up and release a game, Naughty dog has not released a single title apart from Remaster on PS5...

garos822h ago

neil druckman is running on the glories of amy henig and bruce straley

S2Killinit10m ago

People like to ignore reality because they dont like this guy. I really wish people could just accept that we all have different political leanings, and that is ok, we are not enemies. Especially now that people have already learned how social media algorithms prevent us from seeing eye to eye with people who have different opinions from us.

Personally, ND is my favorite developer, and I can’t wait to see what they are working on.

Elda2h ago

Can't wait to see what ND is bringing.

S2Killinit34m ago

Same. ND is the greatest developer imo.

ooquis2h ago

He's gaslighting us to want something that doesn't exist yet. This fool got demoted back to janitor status where he belongs for destroying the last of us franchise.
