you can smell this masterpiece from far away. can't wait.

UCForce1953d ago

Now Kojima goes to Remedy to show his game.

Gamer24by71953d ago

https://twitter.com/Kojima_... - yes, on his monkey cap it is written, Remedy

Obscure_Observer1953d ago

What? Is Kojima joining Remedy?

UCForce1953d ago (Edited 1953d ago )

@Obscure_Observer No, I think he will show Death Stranding gameplay to Remedy just like he did showed to GG. Have you follow the new recently ?

sampsonon1952d ago (Edited 1952d ago )

he won't be showing a PS exclusive made with GG engine to any company outside of sony. sorry

Eonjay1952d ago

If anyone is paying attention he wore a GG hate when he went to visit them like 3 days ago.

No Way1951d ago

Why would he show anything to Remedy? Makes no sense..

Ceaser98573611951d ago

Or may be By showing his game to REMEDY, he indirectly wanting REMEDY to join Sony lol! JK

Can definitely smell something. Hopefully not just hype.

pietro12121952d ago

sampsonon
You're right. KP just toured the studios, compared notes and got the chance to preview Remedy's new game.

lelo2play1951d ago

A Sony owned studio praising a Sony exclusive game made by a studio paid by Sony... I'm baffled.

Did anybody expect them to say they hated the game?

UCForce1953d ago

It’s definitely the game is almost complete. Kojima hint the game release will set in Akira timeline and before 2020 Olympus.

ArchangelMike1953d ago

So there we have it, "the game is not fully complete yet." I still remian sceptical about a 2019 release. Maybe I just don't want to start getting my hopes up only for the to be dashed to the ground! :p

Nyxus1952d ago

Well, the year has only just begun. The wording actually makes it sound like it's pretty far in development, if you ask me. I'm still saying 2019.

UniqueGuy911952d ago

There is no PS4 exclusive titles announced for the fall yet. I'm pretty sure either this or TLOU 2 will come out during the fall.

NarutoFox1951d ago

I think Ghost of Tushima has a better chance releasing this fall since it's been in development longer

Marioraider181951d ago (Edited 1951d ago )

Umm... Newsflash, many games arent complete shortly before they release

ArchangelMike1951d ago (Edited 1951d ago )

Aannndd... we should'nt accept that status quo. We should call it out whenever a game releases and charges full price for half the content. Battlefield V I'm looking at you! o.0

I'm pretty sure that Kojima will release a complete and fully formed game. you can say alot of things about Kojima's games, but unfinished is not one of them.... except for MGSV... but that had more to do with Konami than it did with Kojima.

Marioraider181951d ago

I dont think you get it. There are many games that have gone gold just 1 month before their targeted release date.

purple1011953d ago

its THIS and "Ghost of tushima", im not partial to days gone and the last of us2, il play those two mentioned, then go through some of the PsPlus free games and some others i've been meaning to play. such as Redout, Soul Calibur and prehaps replay ratchet and clank, on MEGA MODE, ( or what ever its called, - once completed, all guns available from the start)

Atari has acquired the Intellivision brand, ending the first ever console war

Atari has acquired Intellivision. The company announced today that it had acquired its long-time rival, ending one of the original console rivalries, dating back to the 1970s.

Wow.... two of my earliest gaming platforms. All they need is Coleco to round things out.

This is like Nintendo buying SEGA.

OtterX2h ago

YES! Colecovision was my start! I came to know Mario there in Donkey Kong before the NES was even a thing. :)

anast4h ago(Edited 4h ago)

Good piece of history here.

edit: I wanted to read it but the cookies pop up is stopping me.

badboyz094h ago

This was just before my time. I do remember my mom's friend having one all dusty in her apartment back in the day.

People forget that console wars are part of the history of this industry. The console wars were started by competitive companies all the way back then and continued through Sega vs Nintendo, Jaguar/3DO/NeonGeo, and PlayStation vs Nintendo and Xbox.

These companies are across oceans and competing for the same business. These companies created the console wars, not crazy fanboys.

anast1h ago

Console wars are fun. It's fun to be a fanboy too. I don't get what's wrong with any of this as entertainment.

darthv721h ago

Young kid school yard banter was fun. 30-40+ year olds still doing it is just disturbing. Many my age (50+) grew out of that a long time ago. We may still have our preferences, but we also embrace a more central position because there is a lot to enjoy on a wide range of genres and systems.

You'll understand one day and then things will forever change.

jznrpg3h ago(Edited 3h ago)

I had both. Snafu on Intellivision was addicting as hell. Also had Colecovision which had Time Pilot. Combat was probably my favorite Atari game and both Atari and Intellivision had similar games like Pitfall and Jungle Hunt. It’s been so long I don’t really remember which game I liked bettter out of those but I did play my Intellivision a bit more than Atari though I’m not sure why besides Snafu. That was 40+ years ago damn I’m old lol

Dagexon2h ago

Ahh you're making me all nostalgic! Not old enough to have played these on original hardware but my first console was a bootleg console from Costco that had a bunch of intellivision and atari games. Then had a lot of fun with intellivision and atari collections on ps1 and 2.
Snafu was one of my favourite games and me and my partner still occasionally play it to this day

Helldivers 2 studio hires new CEO, but Pilestedt isn’t going anywhere

Pilestedt writes: "Hey everyone,

Big update, I've decided to hire @ShamsJorjani as the new CEO of @ArrowheadGS ! We go way back and I wouldn't trust the business in any other hands than his. (...and he comes with an impressive resume and love for games)

But what about me and my involvement in @Helldivers2 ? Well, I'm glad you asked! I am taking the role of Chief Creative Officer, which means I will spend MORE time with the team and 100% of my focus on the games and community!"

Ambitious dream but sorry you don't make good RPGs. Just online co-op shooters.

ThinkThink1d 1h ago

Not yet, but they can grow. Sounds like that's the plan. They have a new CEO this week as well. I can see they pushing helldivers 2 to other consoles, Mac and even high end mobile devices. The game could become a global force and sony can rack up their MAUs.

Eonjay1d 1h ago (Edited 1d 1h ago )

Sure for Helldivers. Surprised Sony doesn't put Helldivers 1 on mobile.... but in reality, I think Arrowhead is talking about creating original IPs that they own. What I question is how they will do this (while remaining multiplatform) without expanding. For HD2, Sony contributed a lot. If they do this by themselves, they are going to hire more people (which isn't a bad thing as long as its sustainable). I love that they are trying to 'stay small' but even when looking at HD2, you get the feeling that they were woefully underprepared to deal with the success they had. Even to today, it takes too long to get bugs addressed.

Another story said that players had stopped playing because of lack of new content. We have know about the new factions since launch but one doubts that they have the internal resources to get new content added at the pace they need to. If they are looking for the kind of success they claim, they need to invest in the resources that will allow them to attract and keep as many players as possible.

SimpleDad14h ago

The new CEO Shams is gonna burn this game to the ground. It was good while it lasted.
Now the real nickel-and-dime will begin.

Just wait and see.

Huey_My_D_Long2h ago

lol I feel like this comment went over my head.
What are the down votes for?

shinoff218313h ago(Edited 13h ago)

You ain't wrong. Lostpotato. I'd rather see an rpg then another shooter. Shame though cause it'd probably be an online rpg ugghhh

XiNatsuDragnel1d 2h ago

Ambitious hopefully y'all can achieve it

Palitera18h ago

They could start by putting any kind of story into their games and ditching the BS of "but we have a game master to direct your irrelevant actions".

shaenoide1d 1h ago

Being the new Blizzard in neither a compliment or a good thing.

thorstein1d ago

When the Blizzard symbol appeared on a title, it used to mean quality. Starcraft, Diablo, Warcraft...I think that's what they're referring to.

S2Killinit23h ago

Yeah I remember those days as well.

Skuletor21h ago

"Don't you guys have phones?"

CrimsonWing691d ago

Not if those games are going to be GaaS.

-Foxtrot5h ago

Maybe if they grow they can split their teams in two

One does games like Helldivers and the other a single player driven RPG game

CrimsonWing695h ago(Edited 5h ago)

We’ll see. With the massive success of Helldivers 2 and the continual flops of things like FF7 Rebirth and a GaaS game like Concord right around the corner and seeing people’s comments on hype for that game leads me to believe we’re f*cked.

Helldivers 2 proved GaaS is a better gamble than traditional games right now and with Jim Ryan already setting the wheels in motion for a GaaS initiative all we can do is wait and see.
