More victims of the Microsoft Murder Machine

mastershredder101d ago (Edited 101d ago )

And? That's part of it. "insider" gaming getting there news from the outside.

Those that were cheering the acquisitions have no idea what they were cheering for. Dumb console war nonsense. They disturbed the entire industry, and they will continue to do what they’re doing to beef up quarterly profits and continue to pretend they did a good thing.

Lol their restructuring is what a fanny boy would say.

Games that take you to Ireland for St Patrick's Day (without leaving the sofa)

Ah, the Emerald Isle. From the hustle and bustle of Dublin, to the majesty of the Antrim Coast, all the way to the beaches of Donegal, the island of Ireland is seeping with ancient Celtic landmarks, rugged landscapes and a rich culture that everyone must experience at least one in their lives.

I’m fortunate enough to be able to call Ireland home but, like many Irish ex-pats, returning to the homeland right now isn’t possible - a fact that especially stings when you consider it’s Saint Patrick’s Day weekend.

Land design in The Witness reminds be of the Northern Ireland shores.

LucasRuinedChildhood1164d ago (Edited 1164d ago )

Never really realised that so few games are based in my country, tbh. haha. I suppose Folklore is the only one that I've actually played.

I'm genuinely surprised that no one has ever tried to get attention by making something controversial like Famine Survival Simulator 1845 ... plenty of room for sequels.

A proper story-based game set in the Great Famine along the lines of a game like A Plague Tale: Innocence could actually be very good though.

roadkillers1163d ago

Is there a way to play Folklore on PS5? What a gem

LucasRuinedChildhood1163d ago

It's not even on PS Now, so that's a no unfortunately

IanTH1164d ago

Are there many games that would take you to Ireland that you couldn't play from the couch? Must have missed the rush of AR games set within the geo-located bounds of Ireland :-p

this isn't news... why is this categorized as "news"?

This is news worthy? Like, seriously, I hope you respond to this. You saw this in the game and you decided to write up a piece and put it on a gaming new aggregate site?

monkey6021277d ago

Well I got a kick out of it anyway

PrimeVinister1277d ago

Putting a controversial political symbol in a game is news, yes.

Telford911277d ago

The funny thing is it's not even controversial

SmokinAces1277d ago

lol, "controversial". ffs

LucasRuinedChildhood1277d ago (Edited 1277d ago )

@Telford91 @CrimsonWing69 @SmokinAces

I'm an Irish person and a piece of media adopting a United Ireland flag would be considered controversial here. Unionists in the North strongly oppose a United Ireland and anyone with a basic knowledge of Irish history knows about Orange marches, the Troubles, etc.

Knowing jack shit about international politics isn't something to proud of.

LightofDarkness1276d ago

Ye haven't a notion lads, especially if you think this isn't controversial.

Well if you were Irish it would be.

A good easter egg from Insomniac IMO, although it might be too political for some.

IRetrouk1277d ago

Not sure if its good or not, to some a united ireland is welcomed, to others, its not, i dont think a spiderman game is really the place to voice a view on it 🤷‍♂️

Azurite1277d ago

It's another universe all together, it's not even the main Earth-616's Spider-Man's universe.

TheSinsibleOne1277d ago

Hopefully one day my country will be unified. Don't care about the politics. We are a small country and it's been divided for too long.
