Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition Gets Release Date

The upcoming Switch version of Hyrule Warriors got a breif shout-out in today’s Nintendo Direct. Nintendo has been steadily releasing details about the port since its announcement earlier this year, but it seems they were waiting until today to announce when exactly Switch owners will be able to take on the enemy hordes as their favorite Legend of Zelda characters.

I never got to play this on the Wii U, so I'll definitely be picking this up on the Switch.

Looking forward to the release :)

I want this really bad but I'm not starting over from square one when I've put over 300 hours into the Wii U version. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I could transfer my save file from the Wii U to the Switch.

Thanks for the reply @Zelda

I can certainly see why you'd be reluctant to start over after playing so much of the game.
I feel I don't need to ask if you think game is any good, That 300 hours tells me everything I need to know :)

Zeldafan642274d ago (Edited 2274d ago )

The game's a solid 8/10 for me. If the Wii U version had everything this definitive version has it would probably be an 8.5.

how is this still so high priced?

Nioh games definitely up there at the top alongside Ninja Gaiden BLK.

LoveSpuds502d ago

There is a decent fan base for the Nioh games, but still think they are criminally overlooked and under appreciated.

I just bought the PS5 collection to replay them again with all their DLC, a sweet collection for my games shelf for sure.

Yea, those gardens haven't been plowed in over 10 years now though. Imagine if they cultivated it, let it grow again.

Starman69502d ago

Amazing what ya can do with a samurai sword lol 🤣

tehpees3502d ago

The honourable mention though.

TheSenorCheese502d ago

originally it wasn't going to be included because of their take on Samus' character. But the gameplay's actually not bad.

Vits501d ago

Honestly, I don't know if we can even blame them for that take. Nintendo's Sakamoto was credited as the writer and from what we learned later with the Retro Studios interviews for the Prime series, Nintendo apparently never saw Samus as this stoic badass that most of the west imagined her as. Going as far as describing her as "motherly".

Ninja Gaiden was dope but I don't really care for alot of their games.

Does Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Live Up to its Predecessor?

Both Hyrule Warriors games are a blast to play through and offer hours upon hours of content, but how do the two compare against each other?

The fact you can switch between characters DURING missions makes it a lot better than the Wii U version.

ZeekQuattro922d ago

The first HW game has a better roster mainly because it spanned several Zelda games and its soundtrack also benefited from it as well. Other than that Age Of Calamity improves on everything else. I find it to be a better game overall.

Played the crap out of the original on the Wii U, even got the 3DS version as well for the extra content. Tried playing Age of Calamity but the frame rate just became too annoying and I just couldn't play it and enjoy it like it did back in the day because of that.
