New White Knight details emerge!

Some new details about White Knight Chronicles have emerged, courtesy of Japanese gaming site Game-Star! Here's the gist of the article:

-Story should last 100 hours +
-Graphics will be at 1080P

Personally, this actually has me a little worried. I know Level 5 has a fine pedigree and everyone is very excited for this game (as am I), but I'm concerned about the story. I play RPGs primarily for the story and I worry that having 100+ hours of gameplay AND co-op may dilute the narrative. I'm certainly not counting it out, by any means, but it's just something to bear in mind.

Level-5 is full of win. Square Enix should take example. White Knight Story is already a 10 out of 10. This may be the spiritual successor to Dark Cloud because those games were also very long.

Multiplayer does not necessarily mean co-op. If you meant co-op you should have said that. When you say multiplayer people think online deathmatches and things like that.

It's true that RPGs don't need multiplayer (which is why he received agrees). They are long enough to make it worth the $60, where a game like COD4 needs the online component to make it worth while.

Co-op is a nice addition to any game. It's always fun playing with a real person. Multiplayer, on the other hand, would likely feel tacked on to a title like this, and add nothing to the overall experience.

Level 5 says 100+hrs is what they consider standard length so i am not too worried. They have the experience and the track record plus with sony publishing the resources are there as well.

I can't wait to see what level 5 has in store. This game will be better than final fantasy but maybe not versus since thats still exclusive :D

Maybe your opponent will transform also, keeping the fight "fair" or at least you chances equal to before the transformation. Ain't gonna be to fun if you can just transform and crush your enemies. Sound's sweet though. Not an RPG fan but this gen I'm getting more interested in them.

All of that is cool, but the only news that really impresses me about that is 100+ hours. While the extra features are cool, the two main things I care about as an rpg gamer are combat & story.... and at last TGS the combat was reported to be pretty spotty.

WKS is my most anticipated rpg at this point (I like the concept even more than FF), so I really hope that they ironed out all the kinks. It does seem like it would be difficult to make combat available b/w giant characters and smaller ones at any time.

Now that PS2 games are so cheap, I recommend buying Dark Cloud 2, Rogue Galaxy and Dragon Quest VIII, they are absolutely must have for any avid RPG gamer.

I've never been in to RPG's in general, but is this anything like Jean De Arc on PSP? That's one game i wasn't able to put down for a good few months. Any input is greatly appreciated!

No.Jeane De Arc is a startegy RPG.WKC will be more like a traditional JRPG.

It's 4 player co-op!

- The story mode is very long and has a lot of content.
- Up to 16 players (avatars) can gather in any given Town Square.
- You can party up with up to 4 players to go questing from Town Square.

Man this game sounds promising. I was a big RPGer on the PS1 and then fell away during the PS2. Could this be the game that brings me back to the fold ?? One can only wait and see.

i guess this is why Sony wasn't too concerned with FFXIII going multiplat...if Lvl5 keep their promises then the game will be epic...and Lvl5 has a good record, so the expectations are high for this game

I knew there was a good reason for the delay in information that was being released about this title. 1080p, 100+ hours of gameplay and ONLINE CO-OP? Sign me UP! I hope there are a lot of secrets and discoveries to make in the world, other than just having some side quests and a long main quest. I love running around the world looking for stuff in RPG's.
