FFXV director talks Nvidia GameWorks, the death of consoles, and playing games on robots.
Limited Run Games believes that more companies will start selling a limited number of physical media in a decade.
Like a vocal minority demand?
On PS5 alone the digital sales made up 77% of all game sales in 2024.

Also, I despise f*ckin limited run games because they will extort people that want a physical version by marking up the prices almost 100% so they make more. So a game digitally that’s $30 you can expect it to be $60 on LRG and don’t even get me started on the collectors edition prices… it’s borderline highway robbery.
Atari has acquired Intellivision. The company announced today that it had acquired its long-time rival, ending one of the original console rivalries, dating back to the 1970s.
Wow.... two of my earliest gaming platforms. All they need is Coleco to round things out.
This is like Nintendo buying SEGA.
Good piece of history here.
edit: I wanted to read it but the cookies pop up is stopping me.
This was just before my time. I do remember my mom's friend having one all dusty in her apartment back in the day.

People forget that console wars are part of the history of this industry. The console wars were started by competitive companies all the way back then and continued through Sega vs Nintendo, Jaguar/3DO/NeonGeo, and PlayStation vs Nintendo and Xbox.
These companies are across oceans and competing for the same business. These companies created the console wars, not crazy fanboys.
I had both. Snafu on Intellivision was addicting as hell. Also had Colecovision which had Time Pilot. Combat was probably my favorite Atari game and both Atari and Intellivision had similar games like Pitfall and Jungle Hunt. It’s been so long I don’t really remember which game I liked bettter out of those but I did play my Intellivision a bit more than Atari though I’m not sure why besides Snafu. That was 40+ years ago damn I’m old lol

The headline reads like a Final Fantasy on PC is the atrocity of all atrocities.
Furthermore the article doesn't really make any point to support the headline. It's well written but it's just a lift of facts and interviews but remains pointless in the end.
Also, why does one exclude the other. Are bad graphics needed for SE to keep it's way? Are good graphics a sign that a game will be bad? Square's problem is that the teams of the previous few games were badly put together. For XIII they had an interesting story but chose a bad type of gameplay, for XV they had good gameplay but lacked in storytelling. But looking at the past with VII, VIII on PSx then X and XII on PS2, XIII on PS3 and XV on PS4, Final Fantasy was always known for being in the front line when it comes to graphics, even "before SE lost it's way". One could even say that top notch graphics are one of the series' key parts.
PC will have both the best graphics this game can offer and the frames to match
graphics don't matter (ask any switch user) but square enix lost its way a looooong time ago. ff15 looked good but played way too stiff and generic.
I'll take 13 over 15 anyday
GFX is about the only thing this game has going for it.
