More than likely its either what they plan or planned on doing. That is they started to do a port in they style, changed what minds they have, so did a mobile version instead.

Yeah but he says Liminous engine is made for Ps4 and X1 and it isn't built ready for Switch and further annoucement will be revealed for using UE4 and Unity because these two can run everywhere including Switch and it did very well there.

Honestly who cares? It's old now and Zelda is a better game anyways. I was hyped for FFIV but after watching the videos I wasn't really too impressed. 5 Espers... yeah there are epic but 10 years of dev time....

I'd rather have a more classic artsy FF game. One that looks more like Yoshitaka Amano's paintings/drawing. Basically FF6/FF3 (US).

They actually hadn't done any optimizations at all. They basically just loaded the engine as-is and tried to run it. If they were to optimize the engine, and make some smart concessions, the engine and game could run fine.

Well the other issue is the limited memory for the Switch. We are already seeing games that need to be downloaded to get the full game because Nintendo still can't figure out how to release games on an affordable format with enough space.

As it stands, Square won't be making any money off a game that requires heavy changes to work on system with an incredibly small install base. An install base in which the vast majority already have a system that can play it nonetheless.

right... but the switch was smart to not get into the power war... this will ultimately bite the switch in the ass in the mid to long term. you just won't have access to some of the most popular titles being released. its weird to me that people defend the idea of having to strip a game down or make a special version of it just to run on the system when there are two other systems that just run it the way it was intended and far better. and two systems above those that will those games even better still. the switch is the same price or more than a ps4 or xb1s.... and i have a switch! cool for those nintendo favs but pretty much nothing else.

Like I said, the Switch is WAY too underpowered, Nintendo stubbornly likes to go the cheap route. Expect FFVX to have horrible visuals on the switch. Probably 640p and with jaggies like nobody's business.. There's a reason why there was no PS3 and 360 version. And with the standard PS4 and XBO versions being at 900p and 720p, I can't even imagine the Switch. Nintendo's portable console hybrid is a joke.

Didn't know how to manage time? Nomura was and still is working on the entire Kingdom Hearts franchise during FFXV's development. The man can only work on so many projects at a time. I don't see Tabata handling an entire series to himself when working on FFXV, so of course he was more focused on that project.

To be fair Luminous is not a very good engine. SE was having trouble with it on PS4 and XB1. There is a reason they switched over to UE4.

Devs making these games 3 to however many years ago development started didnt go hmm i better tailor my future game to be able to run on a underwhelming nintendo platform in 2017...

When nintendo flashed that list of 3rd party devs in January i wanted to so badly believe that list meant ALL 3rd partys... Not just smaller budget 3rd partys, indies, and games made by 3rd partys tailored just for the switch (mario rabbids).

Technically, they are bringing more 3rd partys to the switch than wiiu ever had... Just not the 3rd partys that basically release exclusively on the ps4/xb1
