Half-Life Writer Not "Interested" To Do Half-Life 3

The hopes of getting a sequel of the most popular and successful first-person shooter from Valve are getting slimmer, it seems. And with the recent departure of Chet Faliszek, the writer of the the last episodes, it has affected a lot fans.

In this day and age ,where almost everything is riddle with dlc and microtransaction, what studio/developer could we count on to make the game and stay true to the series?

PeaSFor2479d ago

other than Gabe nutthuggers, who seriously care? HL was a gem, HL2 was ok at best, the episodes was seriously meh...... so thx but no thx, Valve cant do shit anymore other than a storefront.

TXIDarkAvenger2479d ago

I mean it would be fine if they didn't leave it on a cliffhanger.

Sciurus_vulgaris2480d ago

Half-Life 3, is literally a game, that has no true reason to not be made. Valve's higher staff must lack of confidence in their own studio(s). The money and staff were their to make the game. Half-Life 3, is not one of many wanted sequels killed by a low selling predecessor or studio bankruptcy. Half-Life 3, never happened simply due to valve not managing resources and time currently.

Maybe they just decided they didnt want to do 3 and moved on with their lives. Thats what everyone needs to do now is move on. Just like a ex wife you loved her had some good times but have now moved on and dont need another.

It's more like your son who went to war but never came back. You have no closure, you know he's probably dead but you still have hope he's out there alive somewhere and will come back to surprise you.

slapshot632479d ago

You do know it's just "Half-Life 3" and not "Half-Life 3," right?

Fist4achin2479d ago

I'd still like to say that Valve is acting like a bag of dicks over the matter because it shows that they don't give a crap about the fans of the game.

I take part of it back, they are acting like a filthy rich bag of dicks over their steam service...

Sciurus_vulgaris2479d ago

Valve has no interest in AAA development.

rainslacker2478d ago

I would be curious to see how it would sells. While there are a lot of people who say they'd like to have it, the actual concept of HL3 being made has become more a joking meme than a discussion of tons of people eagerly hoping it'll get made.

If they don't bait the audience then there can't be anymore Half Life 3 jokes

Shuckylad2479d ago

Maybe but I'm already waiting for HL4!

Marcello2479d ago

After 10 years of waiting i feel the same as Valve obviously do, i dont care a stuff about HL anymore.

Valve Just Patched A Two-Decade Old Bug In Half Life

As part of the title’s 25th anniversary, that long-established glitch has now been resolved.

Barlos161d ago

Been replaying this on my steam deck now that it's been updated with modern controls and is now fully verified. Have to say I'm surprised to see how well it holds up. Was a great game in 1998 and it's still a great game 25 years on.
