ITS going to be amazingly immersive in VR!!! i can actually going into the fallout 4 world and play the game???? WOW WOW WOW!!! Im really thinking about buying a VR headset now for sure. I also heard that Doom is coming out for VR too so thats unlimited gameplay online in VR plus singleplayer!!!!

joab7772640d ago

Wanna see the graphics and dreamer are but yeah, I'm psyched! This is a VR seller for sure! I'm just happy with its Pro update, which makes a HUGE difference in 4k.

fr0sty2640d ago (Edited 2640d ago )

Doom would be a vomit-fest for most people. You really have to give yourself time in VR to be able to play games that have that much motion in them. The whole walking without feeling your body actually being affected by gravity like it does when you really walk can make you nauseous. Running is way worse. That's why most VR games that do let you move around freely without being in some sort of vehicle usually make you walk at a snail's pace.

This is coming from someone who doesn't get sick easily in VR... I've never had to stop playing from feeling sick, but I have at times felt that nausea feeling creeping in, and could tell if I was moving much faster it would make me feel ill. Other friends of mine were yanking the headset off after 5 minutes because they couldn't handle it. Motion in VR has to be handled with care.

UnHoly_One2640d ago

Yeah the crazy fast motion and double jumping of Doom would probably create quite a few queasy stomachs.

toddybad2640d ago

Yeah i get vr sickness very easily unfortunately so its slowly slowly for me. Not everybody is affected though.

Money-Mike2640d ago (Edited 2640d ago )

Can't wait to play this on Scorpio

SaveFerris2640d ago

Possible system seller, though the cost of entry is pretty high (console + headset).

LexHazard792640d ago

If you bought a PS4 Pro +PSVR combo, Vive or a Rift. All cost good money..

Money-Mike2640d ago

Sorry I fail to see where "luck" is relevant here?

DeadlyOreo2640d ago Show
S2Killinit2640d ago (Edited 2640d ago )

Well luck sorta is relevant because we don't even know if Scorpio will have a proper VR option, and even if it does, it will have a zero install base at launch making it unlikely that a developer will put a lot of time and resources toward Scorpio VR games. but if your lucky MS is working on a cash deal with developer.

Aenea2640d ago

Doubtful that is going to happen.

We don't know if and how the Scorpio is going to support VR and getting a game like this, which can barely hit 30fps to run at 90fps takes a lot more power than even the Scorpio has unless they sacrifice a lot of graphical fidelity...

Money-Mike2640d ago

Please tell me more about the internal specs and capabilities of the Scorpio. Inquiring minds would love to know.

Liqu1d2640d ago

@Money-Mike Please tell me about the internal specs and capabilities of the Scorpio. Since you can't wait to play to play Fallout in VR on the Scorpio I'm sure you know the specs.

Aenea is right. No one knows if the Scorpio will get Fallout VR right now so pipe down, stop getting defensive when someone makes a sensible comment and wait for official confirmation.

UnHoly_One2640d ago

I don't really care about VR, so I don't have a horse in this race, but when Bethesda first announced Fallout in VR, didn't they mention the Scorpio?

I thought that was their intention all along. I don't know, maybe I just don't remember it correctly.

Money-Mike2640d ago (Edited 2640d ago )

Lmao Oreo you're hilarious. You're one of those guys. Ok buddy. Sorry I had no idea E3 2017 has come and gone, I had no idea you knew what games were and weren't in development. I had no idea you knew what games were launching with the Scorpio. Sorry next time I'll have more respect for the time traveler

generic-user-name2640d ago

"Can't wait to play this on Scorpio"

" Sorry I had no idea E3 2017 has come and gone, I had no idea you knew what games were and weren't in development. I had no idea you knew what games were launching with the Scorpio."

Aren't you being a hypocrite?

MoonConquistador2640d ago

And a douchebag. They usually pair up those two

zivtheawesome2640d ago

sadly the leaked specs of the scorpio seems to indicate that it wouldn't be possible.

Fishy Fingers2640d ago (Edited 2640d ago )

Huh? They've confirmed it's VR capable (just like any device with video out) and the leak specs should easily run F4 @ 1080p (mostly ultra settings) 80+ FPS average (and that's considering PC level optimisation not console).

Either way, people are getting way to worked up for something that's still a ways away (Scorpio or F4 VR).

Aenea2640d ago

@Fishy

F4 currently has trouble hitting 30fps and for VR it will need to hit 90fps and do it without frame drops. Yes, they can do that but they will need to downgrade the graphics. And if they are planning to use Rift/Vive than there's the issue of more pixels to render as well.

So yes, I don't see it happen without compromises or trickery...

Artemidorus2640d ago

Think that applies to yourself and the topic in hand, as I said it's not April 1St yet.

christocolus2640d ago

@Money-Mike

It is definitely coming to Scorpio. It was hinted at by Tod Howard in the Scorpio reveal video last year. He even mentions Fallout 4 VR in the same video.

zivtheawesome2640d ago

they said they are trying. not will be in scorpio for sure.

S2Killinit2640d ago (Edited 2640d ago )

Well by then I think we will already be playing it on PSVR since it's ready and all. Unless it's sticking to PC only.

Nintendo confirms its commitment to physical games

In an era dominated by digital downloads and streaming services, the importance of physical media in gaming remains a topic of discussion.

Of course, Nintendo has always preferred physical sales, especially since they skew to a younger audience, and kids want games for their birthdays and holidays. They go to the store and pick the game they want.

Since the Wii they have always been the last major publisher to support modern tech or concepts, and they will be the last to support physical if it ever goes away. Which I hope it doesn't.

darthv7214h ago

Nintendo just likes sales in general. If they can sell digital more, they would because the 2nd hand market they do not get a cut of. For me, i tend to buy more physical switch games than I do other platforms. I do have my fair share of digital deals from the eshop though. Especially if its something that i have a sealed physical copy of and dont want to reduce its value.

Cacabunga14h ago

Then I know for sure who I will be supporting

neutralgamer199215h ago

OK, but you need better format where these games could actually fit instead of half of the game being in physical form and all I have being on a digital code or have to download

Hofstaderman14h ago

The one caveat with cartridges. If the leaks are true the internal storage stands at 256gb plus SD card support too.

franwex11h ago

You could have a 256gb card and a 10gb card. Publishers will simply use the 10gb one and make you download the rest.

Inverno14h ago

There are cards that can fit all of a game but those cost more, and publishers are cheap. It's weird cause with how much the switch has sold and how long it's been on the market the costs to manufacture these cards should've been much lower by now. It's a publisher issue cause there has only been very few exceptions on PS and Xbox, rest of the industry would rather force a download despite Blu-ray being cheap.

shinoff218313h ago

Your right. It's definitely a publisher issue. From my time collecting that's what I've come across. Just always remember

Tell you everything you need to know about releases.

Flakegriffin11h ago

Pretty sure most, if not all, of Nintendo first party titles are all on cartridge. It’s the third parties.

Neonridr6h ago

that's on devs who opt for cheaper sized cartridges to save on manufacturing costs.

Yeah it artificially retains the high prices for their software. Hence Pirates will always have their day with them.
