Forbes' Dave Thier writes: "We're getting some new story DLC for Final Fantasy XV, Square Enix detailed today. All three of Prince Noctis' buddies will be getting their own stories to tell in the coming months, but first up is muscle-bound, greatsword-swinging Gladio, whose episode comes out on March 28th, followed by chipper photographer Prompto in June. Ignis, for his sins, is still not dated. On the surface, this is great news for a game I enjoyed immensely, at least for the most part, and yet I'm wary about returning to this title -- something about this post-launch strategy, for me, only exacerbates some of the conflicts in the original game."

Gary Green said: With my fondness for (most) Final Fantasy games and my side goal of finishing off games in my collection with loose ends, a return to Final Fantasy XV seemed inevitable. It also serves as my third Final Fantasy platinum trophy after VII and VIII, a reasonable substitute since Final Fantasy IX is nigh on impossible to master.
Final Fantasy 15's director has revealed why he left Square Enix back in 2018.
Hajime Tabata famously resigned from Square Enix two years after Final Fantasy 15 shipped in 2016. In a special livestream at the time, Tabata announced his decision to resign from the company, cancelling three of four new story-focused DLC episodes for Final Fantasy 15 in the process.
Man inherited a train wreck and was expected to release this game in under two years after it spent a better part of a decade in development hell. At one point there was even plans to make FFXIII Versus a musical. He did what he could.
Whatever the behind-the-scenes went on over the many years, at the end of the day it was a radical change in direction that I could not go along with. Also why I never bought 16.
Well yeah if you played through the game already its somewhat strange to see them release these side stories post launch as DLC. Its almost like they had a bunch of content that they cut but never got around to finish so now that the game is out and proved to be profitable they are scrambling for every little bit of cut content to maximize profits.
I started a new game + but it's pretty boring just one hit killing everything to get AP. Also it's frustrating that you have to do all the hunts that you've already done to get to the ones you haven't done. I'm not going to bother with the game again until this story DLC hits.
"I have an issue with the lack of story with this game"
"Ok, we'll add more story stuff"
"NOO WHAT THE HELL"
Also...not 10 year dev cycle. it was 3 years. lol But I guess shit writers have to spin a narrative when facts don't work with their opinion.
