Surprised they kept this secret. Thought they said they would patch it later and do nothing for now

Cool though

Texture pop in is significantly superior on the Pro. And the lighting, wow

joethetimelord2724d ago

On one hand I'm glad there's not too much of a difference between Pro and Vanilla. On the other I'm glad there's enough difference to warrant the Pro's validity.

Asuka2724d ago

Downloading the demo now. Tho i will be playing on my OG ps4 it is nice to see options for people who can use such features. Gotta give it to SE for finally putting in the work because over the past few months FFXV has seen many improvements (according to previews). Cannot wait to finally play this. Watched the anime, and the movie so im ready haha

Irishguy952724d ago

Also for anyone who plays, GO OUT AT NIGHT, taste the combat system. The fact that its locked on easy means yiy should should battle high level enemeis

joethetimelord2724d ago

Also those little tusked cow things are a must if you want a longer fight. They have absurd amounts of HP and fight in packs, so you can get used to crowd control.

UCForce2724d ago

Definitely it's look more realistic on Pro version.

G20WLY2724d ago

That's a significant texture boost for the Pro there o_O

Also, it seems like there is more - and thicker - foliage. The lighting is a huge improvement!

Spenok2724d ago

Wow that's a pretty good difference. As I said yesterday, this game alone makes me happy I got the Pro.

Nu2723d ago

Huge difference, I barely notice an improvement

Irishguy952723d ago (Edited 2723d ago )

Its pretty big for something that wasn't supposed to be there. This is 'high' settings versus 'maximum' on PC. It makes a big difference when you play. Being able to to see the ground load is an immersion killer. Look at No mans Sky versus Star citizen for entering a planet. Tell me texture loading isnt isn't a ****

I don't see much of a difference honestly... I didn't see the HQ and LQ signs at first, and I was debating which was which.

Teflon022724d ago

I thought the top would be the normal ps4 but I looked and knew immediately the top looked better and smoother then I went and realized it said hq on the ones I liked lol

zivtheawesome2724d ago

it is because of how they show the pics.
the gif @Irishguy95 showed makes the difference a lot clearer.

EmperorDalek2724d ago

That certainly showed it off better.

Asuka2724d ago

yeah i also think you won't be able to see the HDR difference unless you are viewing it on a HDR tv. These screens won't show that. Gotta play it for yourself.

Rude-ro2724d ago

I second that. I played cod:iw first on my pro...
The image was improved, but something off. It was not "fantastic", just really clean. I checked settings on the pro and it said my tv was not hdr. Of which it is. Samsung 8500 curved uhd.
Turns out I had to turn the option on per hdmi input, so I did. Jumped back into the level I was playing... holy cow the difference.
Hdr + 4k is beyond ridiculously beautiful.

jer11222724d ago

Well it's literally impossible that you're playing Call of Duty infinite Warfare with HDR since it doesnt support hdr. It only supports an updated resolution it's using 2K checkerboard rendering. On my Samsung TV you have to enable the UMD HDMI mode and then you get the resolution but there is no HDR so I don't know if you're lying or you just don't understand. The game does look very good but it doesn't have HDR

Rude-ro2724d ago (Edited 2724d ago )

@jer1122
I will go with what I physically played and saw soooooo
if turning on uhd made that big of a difference without hdr... than my mind will be blown even more.
According to venturebeat via activision, it does support hdr
And do you mean uhd? I do not know what umd is nor is it on my tv.

Markusb332724d ago

Exactly when you try it in store you will see a major difference and want the console. I already have a 4k tv so it's not a big outlay in one go. It's the same deal with psvr. Go out to your local shop and try it out.

blackblades2724d ago

Just imagine if was dolby vision. It's a much higher end then hdr. HDR 10 < DV 12 it be awhile until hdr get where DV is at. Only problem with DV not many devices supports it.

Downvoted for telling the truth.

Markusb332724d ago

You not watching in 4k ? There is a big difference I'm many pro games but you need to see it in 4k to see what's possible and it is very good. My local game shop has it on demo in store with this game and all the others

mad-dog2724d ago

Well, it's VERY clear to me. In motion, it will have Waaaay less shimmering in the distance too.

Glad that I absolutely can't stand subscription services.

Petebloodyonion11d ago (Edited 11d ago )

I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

SonyStyled11d ago

Pay-per-view was almost cheaper than the cost of gas and rental fee from Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn’t exist today. Are you being sarcastic?

Final Fantasy XV Review – A Royal Road Trip

Gary Green said: With my fondness for (most) Final Fantasy games and my side goal of finishing off games in my collection with loose ends, a return to Final Fantasy XV seemed inevitable. It also serves as my third Final Fantasy platinum trophy after VII and VIII, a reasonable substitute since Final Fantasy IX is nigh on impossible to master.

Final Fantasy 15 director reveals why he left Square Enix, and announces he's working on 2 new JRPGs

Final Fantasy 15's director has revealed why he left Square Enix back in 2018.

Hajime Tabata famously resigned from Square Enix two years after Final Fantasy 15 shipped in 2016. In a special livestream at the time, Tabata announced his decision to resign from the company, cancelling three of four new story-focused DLC episodes for Final Fantasy 15 in the process.

FF15 is like FF13 its subjective people either like it or hate it.

raWfodog143d ago

I liked it. I haven’t played the royale edition yet but I’ll get around to it one day.

gold_drake143d ago

no no, 15 wasnt trash.

15 had a tremendous difficult development.

FinalFantasyFanatic141d ago

I really believe 13 was better put together and more complete than 15 ever was.

EternalTitan142d ago

Found the pathetic troll.
How is your jobless life going?
Dot worry, you will never get a job or a girlfriend haha!

Hofstaderman143d ago

Man inherited a train wreck and was expected to release this game in under two years after it spent a better part of a decade in development hell. At one point there was even plans to make FFXIII Versus a musical. He did what he could.

TheColbertinator143d ago

I didn't care much for XV and I always wanted the original vision of Versus XIII but I think the dev team did what they could to salvage the project

Inverno142d ago

And yet people still blame him for the game turning out the way it did, rather than SE for the horrible mismanagement of 13 and Namura for being overly ambitious.

Dwarrior143d ago

Whatever the behind-the-scenes went on over the many years, at the end of the day it was a radical change in direction that I could not go along with. Also why I never bought 16.

gold_drake143d ago

this is also why Sakaguchi (spelling) left.
