Final Fantasy XV - Death Spell Gameplay

As revealed exclusively during the FINAL FANTASY XV presentation at TwitchCon 2016, witness Death magic – one of the powerful spells granted by the Ring of the Lucii. Death drains the HP of enemies. The longer you use the spell, the more your enemy will physically deteriorate. In this video Death is used to tackle a variety of enemies, including another exclusive reveal – the fearsome Bandersnatch!

Final Fantasy XV will be available on November 29th, 2016 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

I love how this video shows both the pros and cons of casting Death.

Pros: Incredibly powerful

Cons: Drains tons of MP and you can get interrupted easily

Its well balanced and MY GOD does the game have a killer soundtrack. Yoko Shimomura is the best.

Irishguy952776d ago

Yeah its good looking, bt damn, this woulda been much cooler with the origianl story I mean it made perfect sense for the Ring of Lucis to cast death if Lucis worshiped the death god

DarkOcelet2776d ago (Edited 2776d ago )

I also would have loved if they went with the original story too and Stella :3

But, i can't complain because this one looks pretty darn awesome. I wish Tabata and his team the best.

NoctisPendragon2776d ago

That point didn't change , they still worship the death and have skull designs everywhere .
They just said it wasn't as explicit as before .

Irishguy952776d ago (Edited 2776d ago )

Sorry to inform Pendragon
http://www.finalfantasyforu...

Its gone. Skull designs are because Roen https://www.google.ie/searc...

logo is skull, and they still designed the cloths for the game.

I wonder if Noctis and Luna still see the light in the sky when someone dies, considering that was a plot point of versus when they were chatting about Death. I doubt it anyway. Not that i'm slating the game for it sure i would have prefered that but whatever. Not like it needed that for a good game.

Noxrest2776d ago

also like most spells in the game i think it will have a long cooldown time, most of the playable demos shown so far show a rather lengty cooldown time on spells

DarkOcelet2776d ago (Edited 2776d ago )

What I am wondering is if we can use the death spells on the giant enemies like the Super Ultra Huge Adamantoise we saw in the old trailers.

Erik73572776d ago

Yea the fps is so bad that I'm thinking about waiting a year just for the pc version.

TwilightSparkle2776d ago

I'm with you on that one. Besides it may be cheaper aswell

playtimewilltell2776d ago

Didn't watch the video but just dropping in to say that the rest of you should also not watch the video :P

Publishers like Square Enix release far too much media on their games and by the time of release there's little to be surprised by. Watch enough to decide whether or not you're going to buy the game, and then - oh, I don't know - develop some patience. Bye!

Glad that I absolutely can't stand subscription services.

Petebloodyonion24d ago (Edited 24d ago )

I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

SonyStyled24d ago

Pay-per-view was almost cheaper than the cost of gas and rental fee from Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn’t exist today. Are you being sarcastic?

Final Fantasy XV Review – A Royal Road Trip

Gary Green said: With my fondness for (most) Final Fantasy games and my side goal of finishing off games in my collection with loose ends, a return to Final Fantasy XV seemed inevitable. It also serves as my third Final Fantasy platinum trophy after VII and VIII, a reasonable substitute since Final Fantasy IX is nigh on impossible to master.

Final Fantasy 15 director reveals why he left Square Enix, and announces he's working on 2 new JRPGs

Final Fantasy 15's director has revealed why he left Square Enix back in 2018.

Hajime Tabata famously resigned from Square Enix two years after Final Fantasy 15 shipped in 2016. In a special livestream at the time, Tabata announced his decision to resign from the company, cancelling three of four new story-focused DLC episodes for Final Fantasy 15 in the process.

FF15 is like FF13 its subjective people either like it or hate it.

raWfodog156d ago

I liked it. I haven’t played the royale edition yet but I’ll get around to it one day.

gold_drake156d ago

no no, 15 wasnt trash.

15 had a tremendous difficult development.

FinalFantasyFanatic154d ago

I really believe 13 was better put together and more complete than 15 ever was.

EternalTitan155d ago

Found the pathetic troll.
How is your jobless life going?
Dot worry, you will never get a job or a girlfriend haha!

Hofstaderman156d ago

Man inherited a train wreck and was expected to release this game in under two years after it spent a better part of a decade in development hell. At one point there was even plans to make FFXIII Versus a musical. He did what he could.

TheColbertinator156d ago

I didn't care much for XV and I always wanted the original vision of Versus XIII but I think the dev team did what they could to salvage the project

Inverno155d ago

And yet people still blame him for the game turning out the way it did, rather than SE for the horrible mismanagement of 13 and Namura for being overly ambitious.

Dwarrior156d ago

Whatever the behind-the-scenes went on over the many years, at the end of the day it was a radical change in direction that I could not go along with. Also why I never bought 16.

gold_drake156d ago

this is also why Sakaguchi (spelling) left.
